I'm sure our resident Darth Vader prop experts Plo Strax-Avix and our 501st MALAYSIA-BRUNEI OUTPOST Darth Vaders - Kalkamel and VaderArjay will soon be visiting this thread.

Nice Vader, azazel! You're lucky you can get one of those poseable mannequins. It's practically impossible to find here.
Looks like we share some common components. I have an ROTJ Vader myself, and from your pic it looks like you've got a Portumac chest box. Not sure about the armor, though, is that the latest GT? One cool thing you've done is you've managed to get the shoulder slant just right. That's a bitch to do, I can attest to that. And that JB lid is a beauty!

Nice!
Azazel, I have one of Doug's cod too. Top notch workmanship.
Hey, a rundown of all your parts' original would make greatly reading.
Is your LA suit real leather?
I'm ALMOST done with my Vader...just need the pleated undersuit. I'm torn between getting an LA, or go with the cheaper CP version...since mine will be for display too, the extra heat from the pleather is not a problem, and CP's suit is quite a bit cheaper. I'm just worried the pleather's look will cheapen the entire costume...
Have you seen CP's pleather suit up close? I'm trying to gather some feedback before I decide...

Wow! My own thread! :lol Thanks for the nice words, guys. It has taken me a few of years of my life to get this far and I don't foresee completing it any time soon (still have to look for the dough to buy better components!). @ kalkamel, the manny's not poseable... just the hands! I got a standard mannequin but constructed a wire frame to replace the existing hands. I just posed the hands according to my preference. My goal is the "Join me!" look from ESB. As for the hard parts, they're all Portumac except for the belt boxes and the helmet. Belt boxes are modified Russreps and the helmet, as mentioned earlier, is a JB. And you're right about the shoulder slant... it is tough to get right. That's one of the most distinguishing features of Vader. If you don't get it right, your Vader would look wonky. @ Strax-Avix, the cod is nice. I didn't get it straight from AP though... bought it from another Sydneysider. The LA suit is real leather which I got from Alvarez himself. I can't attest to the pleather version but the leather is real nice and comfy. And Lucas is a great guy to deal with.

Well, even as a work in progress, it looks awesome already. Gotta find some online tutorials on making wire frame hands... my Vader's look too petrified!

...I started in 2006 when I got my hands on the first component, an unfinished JB ESB helmet. It was cracked so I spent a lot of time repairing it and then painting it to a shiny finish. At first I thought I'd be happy with a helmet for display, but one thing about this hobby is that it'll keep you wanting more. Azazel, you couldn't have put it as a better statement. In the quest of constructing Screen Accurate costumes and props, the project does NOT necessarily end when you have completed what you intended to do. There is an unknown or should I say innate FORCE that compels you to put in some more...
Case in point is my STAR WARS : A NEW HOPE Tusken Raider (Male) costume, which I completed in December 2005. I'm planning to revisit and upgrade the head, some of the shoulder Bandoliers and even part of the Gaderffii Stick until it further resembles, URoRRuR'R'R, the ICONIC Sandpeople who almost carved out Luke's head in the Jundland Wastes. ... The undersuit and cape are from Lucas Alvarez and the cod is from ArtisanProps. ....Neverending, I tell you... Azazel, I'm curious what is exactly the material of your Darth Vader costume prop supplied by Lucas Alvarez. Is it wool, like thick Black Wool on this screen used Darth Vader costume prop, where I've taken pictures of Singapore's ART OF STAR WARS Exhibition 4 years ago in Dec 2005 :
P.S. Is Lucas from Argentina? As the CO of the 501st Argentina Outpost, TK 2111 happened to be called "Lucas M Alvarez", and this is his profile pic :

No I didn't choose the wool version, although Lucas does offer it. I figured wool would be too heavy and too hot.
By the way, that Vader in your pic looks kinda wrong. The helmet is ESB but the leather suit and chest box are ANH. Even the cape chain is wrong.
