Hi all! It seems like ages since I've posted anything here. I apologise for the absence, for I have been busy... Anyway, I see that there was an interest for Mandalorian armour a couple of years back in the Forum. That and Kal's Boba helm, which I believe is the latest entry on Mandalorians here. I'd just like to share with you a couple of my own Mandalorian creations. These are custom Mandalorian armour, constructed from a paper base and fiberglass/resin coating. The plates and helmet were made based on Wizard of Flight templates. For your consideration: Ge'tal and Ni'Sya Gra'tua...Ge'tal Gra'tua, Mandalorian Hunter-Killer Ni'Sya Gra'tua, Mandalorian Spotter These costumes were made as part of the requirements for joining the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club, a Lucasfilm Ltd approved Star Wars costuming club that caters to custom Mandalorians. This is currently the fourth largest Star Wars costuming club in the world, and the largest group of Mandalorian costumers around. The membership also gained us an entry in the Malaysia Book of Records as the first Malaysian members of the Mandalorian Mercs. The Malaysian chapter is known as the Jebat Squad, and we hope to gain more members in order to qualify for Clan status. The designation "squad" was specifically created for us when the two of us joined the club simultaneously. More on Mandalorian Mercs at mandalorianmercs.com and malaysianmandos.blogspot.com.

Here are some other costumes that Ni'Sya and I have created: Ge'tal and Ni'Sya Gra'tua mk.II, debuted during the Resurrection III: Rise of the Mandalorians costume exhibition at Muzium & Galeri Tuanku Fauziah, USM Penang. Armata Vir, debuted during Movie Carnival 09 at Sunway Pyramid. Ni'Sya's Firebug armour, debuted at the XVII Tunas Saintis in MRSM Balik Pulau, Penang. Not to mention Kote Gra'tua (center), our Mandalorian brother from the States! It has been more than a year that the Mercs have been in Malaysia, and we have now achieved Clan status in July. Upcoming members are making their armour, and will register once they have completed them. It has been a long and hard road, but worth every painful mile of it... OYA MANDA!

Wow... what can I say. Countless EU novels, comic books and games, not to mention Boba Fett, gave the Mandalorians the image of utter coolness and sophistication. You just destroyed that.

I call it as I see it, man. I feel very strongly about Star Wars so seeing someone taking massive liberties with the characters we've grown to love over many years is kinda like a bitter pill to swallow. I mean what if underneath Darth Vader's cool looking exterior is actually a whiny brat? On second thoughts... wait a minute...

I feel very strongly about Star Wars so seeing someone taking massive liberties with the characters we've grown to love over many years is kinda like a bitter pill to swallow. It is refreshing indeed to hear a passionate Star Wars fan speaking up on this VERY subject. ;D As mentioned in my previous post you're certainly welcome to air your views on this discussion forum.[/b] That is the reason why George Lucas refused to divulge Darth Vader's origins until the Original STAR WARS trilogy is over and done with. It was a good thing as it maintained the mystique that made Darth Vader an enduring Iconic character when he first made his debut appearance in 1977 until SW Episode I : The Phantom Menace...
