Very very cool pieces. The Samurai costume is most interesting.
I have a challenge for you. Maybe you can attempt a lifesize Samurai Vader as your next project? ;D Hehe... It shouldn't be that much difficult... From what I've seen, it's just a black samurai armour with Vader's face mask on it... Maybe I will make one (one of these days)... as an answer to ur challenge... ;D I've also read some tutorials on vac-forming... Seems easy enough... Maybe I'll try it if I can find the materials here in the North... It'll be great if I can pull it off!

Hi & welcome Earendil, Wow you're into theatre costume design making and arts. I like drawings too but stop long ago now mostly just admire people's drawings. You've found the right place to talk about all things science fiction & fantasy. ;D Nice Anubis head piece you've made. I wonder how long does it take you to make it. Do you glue it into place?

Thank you, Master Jadenlee. I look forward to meeting more people here to learn more and perhaps exchange ideas.
The Anubis took about a week to complete, if I remember correctly. The skull of the helmet is made from papier-mache, with the various protrusions filled in using polystyrene. The ears were glued on, and then covered over with filling cement. So too was the entire helmet. This was then sanded down and spray-painted.

Hehe... 'Nuff of the Elven talk... I'm just dropping by to say 'Hi'! So, a fan of Stargate SG1, eh? I have attempted to make a costume of the Anubis Guard once (well, at least my own version of it)..... Couldn't find the full-costume pics, but managed to find the helmet... So, I took new pics of it... Enjoy! ;D Excellent handiwork Earendil, why don't you bring your Anubis Guard Helmet and Costume down with you to KL and troop with the MySciFiFan Costumed Contingent in it? ;D
Since you're into StarGate what do you think of this Horus Guard Helmet Prop - actual prop from the model maker's shop

What do I think of it, milord? I WANT IT! If you'd have me, I'd be honoured to join you as the Anubis Guard... ;D

May I suggest, then, Master Jadenlee, that you go out and get a Stargate DVD? ;D
In my view, the 'head' is not really the helmet, it's a part of it. The wearer's head is somewhere near the level of the guy's (in the pic). The Horus head appears to be an extension of the helmet... opinions?[/b]

May I suggest, then, Master Jadenlee, that you go out and get a Stargate DVD? Sure, If I am free can always get a copy of Star gate DVD. Ya, I agree the wearer's head is somewhere near the neck of the Horus guard helmet, appearing to look taller.
