Plo, a query.. are you planning on getting Vader's Tie Fighter from Code 3 via their official website, or through our local toy specialty outlets?
I think its ok to discuss it here, since it is part of the modern SW collectibles...
Yes I'm seriously considering getting the vader's Tie, as its one of the iconic vehicles, and would look good beside the MF, X-Wing and Slave 1.
I'm also weighing the odds...direct from Code3 may be slightly cheaper (RM1200 to RM1400 including shipping), compared to the RM1600 from local shop. Of course if kena tahan by customs may have to shell out another RM100 to RM200, which comes to the same...but if get from Code 3 can pay in installments, plus other benefits in future...
What are YOU gonna do?

Why must pay customs for item ? and 200RM !? my goodness Anyway, given the factors, i would get from Code 3 (BASED on your factors) Any item from overseas over the value of RM250 will be detained by customs, becasue they may be liable for import duty...PLUS Code 3 vehicles come in a HUGE box about 2' X 2' X 14", which ALWAYS catches the customs officer's eye...
After recalculation, I think I'll get it from a local toyshop, since even getting from Code 3, the vehicle price + shipping already come to RM1,600...

ic interesting to know that.
anyway i suspect #6 shocktrooper variant is floating around retail because the others that came wif it are on the pegs . A bacara and a #48 r2 mysteriously appeared along with 4 saber gg, exact same case that sum1 in RS reported about this case assortment. So look out, the black pilot, green cmdr and shocktrooper variant may have arrived already

If the trend persists, the final retail price for the Vader TIE could be lesser than the quoted current price of RM1600 But then whatever gains we get from the stronger Ringgit would probably be offset by the skyrocketing fuel prices.. oy!! I'd agree with you on ordering from the local retailers.. helps to keep them in business, these small shops do need their supply of loyal customers! Sure hope they'll pass down whatever savings they can get straight to us Let the savings commence.. lucky thing it's shipping in Jan 2006 eh, Plo!! ;D

Don't think the saving will be substantial because the ringgit seem to have dropped a bit lately...its now at 3.77 to the dollar...
And it don't help me much even if the Code 3 Tie Fighter will only be shipping in Jan 2006 because so will my Sideshow Grievous!

not in my town (Liverpool) but apparently a few argos stores here in UK are clearing republic gunships for GBP15. None here in Liverpool, so maybe it was wise of me to snatched two when it was on sale for GBP20. (or maybe if i didn't buy it Liverpool Argos would still have 2 to spare and clear.. -~dilema~-)

I wouldn't say that SW toys here in UK are cheap. They are only cheap during clearance sale, and have to act really fast when it comes. It seems that a rebelscum reader has reported finding a hasbro shock trooper. Time to start hunting! ;D
