We have a Code 3 thread in this forum but that mainly focuses on their SW vehicles. Recently, Code 3 has added another branch to their SW collectibles: 3D sculpted posters. I think that deserves a whole new thread. I hope the mods won't mind.
There are four Star Wars 3D posters on offer. Two have already been released and I've just received one of them, the A New Hope Style A poster. Photos:
The box it came in
The front view
Side view in order to see the poster pop out.
In the prototype photos, Luke's lightsaber is painted with a clear paint. But the finished product is more accurate to the poster...it's painted white. The only thing that looks funny to me is Luke's face. The sculpt doesn't make him look like the face on the poster. Doesn't look exactly like Mark Hamill. But it's a small matter. Overall, I'm happy with this piece.
It's nice to have a SW poster that 'pops out'. I can't wait for the ESB style A which looks even better (See www.code3.net for production photos). But due to shipping, I can only expect that in September
The measurements of this thing are: 8" wide, 2" deep and 10" high. It's about the size of a hardcover book. And it's quite heavy. I couldn't believe its weight. I thought it would be quite light but no...it's definitely a two hand job. It has a stand and can be placed standing like in the photo or it can be hung from a wall. Code 3 even supplied the screws.
There will be a style D poster of Ep. IV that will soon be available. Order from Code 3 before it sells out (the first three posters are all sold out already, Style A of Ep. IV, V, VI).
