I didn't know there are differences in the previous mace saber and the reissue ones, but it looks bluish to me. I think ROTS anakin, obi wan & maul saber are the nicer ones to own because they are the newer models.

Dear Jedi masters, I just wanted to ask u guys for advice & instructions on how to maintain my MR FX blades. My first by was a mace windu. The gold parts are beautiful but they started to have some spots on the gold bits which can't be wiped of with a cotton cloth. What stuff do I need to maintain the beautiful polished & shiney condition of my mr FX sabers? I have mace windu, Luke Ep6, Luke Ep5 & Vader Ep6. I assume few different sabers require different care. PLS advice.... help me Saber Gurus... u're my only hope

Unfortunately, there's no way to get rid of the tarnishes on your Mace, or other MR FX sabers. They're toys made in China, and as such is not meant to be kept for extended period of time.
"TOYS?!?! But they cost me over RM500 each!!!!" I hear you scream. Yes toys, because in the USA they only cost below USD100 and are bought for children as gifts most of the time.
If you bought the MR FX sabers thinking of them as collectibles, then I'm sorry to say you've wasted your money.
The only FX sabers out there worth collecting are the earlier, discontinued Larbel version, and the Parks sabers. However I'd caution against buying from Parks sabers as he has a very bad delivery record.

What Plo said is sad, but true. These FX sabers are just glorified and better albeit more expensive versions of the Hasbro lightsabers. If you want to maintain their finish, do what I do and mount them on to a wall. The more you handle them the more tarnished they get due to the sweat in our palms. And if you duel with them, even worse. Not only will the hilt tarnish, the inside LED will sooner or later get damaged.

hi all, anyone here knows how to fix a MR FX saber?
I have an Anakin FX saber v2 (bought this year 2007) which i only use for display and hardly played with. It was wonky when i turned it on last month, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Now it's completely dead. Tried changing batteries and cleaning the contacts but nothing, just dead. Just wondering if anyone here can help, apart from sending it back to MR of course.
Thanx

Sending it back to MR? It'd be cheaper just to buy another one. Nowadays you can get really good deal for FX sabers on eBay.
My advise is don't bother, they're nothing but glorified toys and as such is not worth fixing.
However, if you are willing to spend the money, you can send it to Ultra Sabers to convert it into a Luxeon LED lightsaber. They state that "As long as the sound board is functional, we can convert your saber.". Of course you'd want to ask them if they'll charge extra for an FX saber in the condition of the one you have.
At least this way you spend the money not only to repaid your FX saber, but end with a much better saber with a much brighter, removable blade.
