Since a few members are starting(or have started) to make their own lightsabers out of stuff found in hardware shop and other places, I'm starting this thread so we can all share this rather new trend in Malaysia.
I will try and finish off the 2 hardware sabers I've been working on and post some pics. Also just started on a new one but is having problem cutting the PVC tube properly at an angle . Can anyone lend me a Mitre saw? ;D

Well, there are hard to find and easy to find items that can be use to make a lightsaber.
You can find PVC tubes/pipes, Faucet handle, pipe cutter (up to 1 1/8 inch) at your local hardware shop.
Steel tube/pipe (super hard to cut or drill) can be purchase from car exhaust shop. Those who want a thinner and slightly softer material can use a Chrome copper pipe from a kitchen sink water trap.
I found the D-rings at the Home Fix shop in 1-Utama 2.
BTW, I am procuring materials now to make an EL lightsaber similar to Park Sabers with removable blade.
Will post some pics once I have the materials.

KK is such a desert when it comes to stuff like that I found the D-rings at the Home Fix shop in 1-Utama 2 Been looking for those too...Now I know where to go. Thanks! ;DBTW, I am procuring materials now to make an EL lightsaber similar to Park Sabers with removable blade. You getting the parts from Graflex Shop? Last time I checked the complete kit cost over US$200...

The copper pipe thing? I went to Attria 2nd Floor. There is a shop that sells bathrooms, toilet and accessories.
Just asked for the Kitchen sink water trap (the metal ones), the "U" pipe under your sink. I am sure KK got such shops.
I am getting the raw EL materials from those supplying advertising/lighting/signboards material. Look for "neon wire".
The other materials are polycarbonate tube (transparent tube) and polyethylene tube (the translucent tube). You can try to look for those in shops dealing with engineering plastics. Normal hardware shops don't carry them.
The whole EL materials, electronics and piping cost about USD100 including shipment

Oh, I don't need the "U" pipe under the sink. What I need are soft metal/PVC pipes which are chromed. The chromed pipe you're using for the saber we saw during the March gathering is way too hard to work with...

That is what I mean. The "U" pipe assembly is but one part only. The whole she-bang has the other straight pipes in 1 1/2 inch diameter and 1 inch diameter.
