7 ft tall walking carpet? Unlikely in this part of the world. ;D
Even if a tall enough costumer come along, the heat in that suit would kill him/her, unless a cooling suit is worn underneath

OK since this thread is about Chewbacca or Wookie costuming, ...now what do we call this walking carpet over here?
...and Imperial Wookie??
Definitely NEED Helmet FANS for this Helmet when wearing this costume!! ;D

Heat is a major factor here.
I think this would be even hotter than the Predator costume in Myscifi.

I think wookie will look good on someone who is really tall . Indeed and that person should be AT LEAST 6.5 Feet in order to qualify to be a Wookie Costumer.
Peter Mayhew the Actor who played Chewbacca in STAR WARS Ep III to VI stansd a TOWERING 7' 3". You can see that he is a HEAD ABOVE the average Caucasian Male in this 501st trooping event pic here :

Actually, there is another way to be tall enough person for Chewie; wear short Silts! ;D I know a few years ago (around AotC time?), one of my TFN Costuming & Props Making Forum friend talk about how he go about doing Chewie and a Wampa. He wore Silt, different height for the different character. As for keeping cool, he told us his trade secret to keeping cool in such thick, furry costume: Sweat It Out! He said that after he did that during Celebration 2 (or was it 1?), he's actually freezing in the suit in the Exhibition Hall! But of course, this Trade Secret only applies to those who are NOT Smelly when they sweat which I know I am not one of them. And if I remember correctly, he did wear something that absorb the sweat under the fur ( or rather the base is natural fibres so both trap the sweat and let them air out)Heightwise, I'm sure if given time, maybe someone who is very tall will pop up. Anyhow, that reminded me of the other day when I was in Singapore's MRT, saw a Polytechnic Student (~17-20 years old) who was very tall that his head was almost hitting the train ceiling. And when a kapo auntie asked him in Chinese how tall he was, he said something that translate to 2.25meters ( or 2.2+ something; can't remember the last chinese no. he said)!

Actually, there is another way to be tall enough person for Chewie; wear short Silts! ;D That will be fine provided the person FULFILLS these 3 criteria :
1. A STAR WARS Fan or someone who LOVES Wookies.
2. Skilled in wearing stilts and able to walk well in it. ;D
3. Who wants to realize a childhood ambition dressed as his favourite Character- CHEWBACCA! This TFN Costuming & Props Making forum friend of yours must be based in the United States right? So has he made his Wookie and Hoth Wampa costume till today? Hey Haldir, if you can locate this 2 metre + Polytechnic student and approach him whether he is interested to don a Chewbacca costume for the upcoming Star Wars: The CLONE WARS Movie fan events to be held in Singapore this year. Better still get him connected to MM's Reno, if you can...
