Just finished doing the weathering for a friend's V2. The only tool I used apart from the can of spray paint was a piece of very very well worn sand paper.
I think it still looks a bit too clean. Maybe I should dirty it with some shoe polish, then seal the whole thing in with a few layers of matt clear coat?
Still need to get the fillisted screw and the BUS card.
What do you guys think?

Pol, I think the next thing you need to figure out is to reduce the shine of the aluminium. Perhaps some medium grit sandpaper to "scratch" the surface to go with the stripped paint, so as to look more weathered. I've heard of people powder coating their shiny metallic rims to reduce the shine, maybe that'll work too. Though I don't really know what the hell powder coating is.

Powder Coating is a process by which epoxy powder is sprayed onto a material, usually metal, to create a rust proof and scratch resistant surface, in a variety of colours. I don't think powder coating a saber is a good idea as it'llbe very very difficult to weather it because the epoxy would eat into the aluminum and in order to reveal the aluminum underneath you'd have to scrape away some of the alum as well.
I think a matt clear coat is the best way to dull the alum, but I don't think I can find it here (aaaaarrrggghhh! )
