Wow, with the extra drink tray I would definitely get it... if only I had a s**tload of cash to spend. Having R2 serve me and my guests a nice cold glass of ice lemon tea on a hot Sunday afternoon would definitely be worth it. The expression on the guests' face when they see it alone would be priceless! Now if only someone would sell a real life working protocol droid to give me a foot massage, that would be awesome!

Hi all,
The last time I have seen one that cost around RM40K, this is slightly cheaper. Still its really expensive for a hobby.
I rember sometime ago seeing a video on the net, someone had scrap his honda car and turn it into R2D2.

The last time I have seen one that cost around RM40K, this is slightly cheaper. Still its really expensive for a hobby. The RM40K version is probably the fully aluminum one. This one has a wooded frame, and a lot of non-metal parts. I know of one R2 builder who spent close to USD40K on his droid.I rember sometime ago seeing a video on the net, someone had scrap his honda car and turn it into R2D2. Scrap a Honda to make an R2? I don't see how that's relevant. Nothing on a car can be used to make an R2 unit. Unless he SOLD his Honda and used the money to fund his R2 project?

I only spent about US10K for my R2- aluminium and fiberglass and fully remote controlled. BTW, I just finished another astromech over the Summer. I think she meant this one. Just FYI, I did make the R2D2 dome for Shawn. This article appeared in Bantha Track.

Wow cool robots, facinating R2D2 and new astromech. One of my favorite robot. I guest this might be the one I've seen, cool modifications. When I saw it, it was a video or news about how he turn his car into what it is now . I think Obi shawn must have imagined he is flying in a H wing when driving. ;D

Thanks for the info and pics of your new droid Mansugi, you really liven up the forum whenever you post. Wish you'd post here more often though
If I can come up with the moolah, any chance of you making me an R2 and ship it back to Malaysia in parts? ;D
