Hi,
I'm afriad I must rain on your parade again.
The sungei wang suppliers are mostly stocking china copies. If they had the actual GI stuff (Government Issue, not GI Joe aah) they wouldnt be able to offer those prices. For USMC PASGT you're looking at easily 400-500RM without the shipping, and that for an obsolete used set without the camo uniform. for navy seal stuff, even ebay bargain prices have just the alice packs at USD200.
However, if authencity is not an issue, the china copies are fine, after all you're not using it in a tactical situation after all. Also, there will be shops with the authentic items in stock. theres ways to differentiate but I'm not an expert.
You could always become a paskal or handau operator....hehehe

Kalkamel, can you also find those special type of kneepads at the Sg Wang shop? Cos I don't think the normal rollerblade type ones can quite cut it out. Both kneepads and arms pads are available.

I'm not such a stickler for accuracy when it comes to combat gear like these... so long as when you're making an appearance, some of the people in the crowd say "Wah! Black Hawk Down, ah!", that's good enough for me. Most people (present company excluded, of course) would be oblivious to the differences, right? ;D

Well, if you bring in anythng mlitary related it can potentially be a problem. My uniform collection saw me going to Kastam (all the way in KLIA somemore) at least 5 times. Usually if they see you're not a samseng or extremist sort, you'll be ok. BUT body armor, and components of body armor, WILL pose a problem, whether the ceramic plate/kevlar components are removed or not. It all depends if they open your package, so its a crap shoot ler. The best is to hand carry it into the country (try to look innocuous when passing through green lane) as I've done with taxable items (cigs, electronics, etc.). My friend hand carried in 5 laptops and over 200 packs of cigs last time, and he even stopped and greeted the kastam officer! what? Empty tactical/body armour vest w/o platest oso a problem? Why? I don't understand....if we bring in at least a tactical vest W/O body armour capability, ie. no slots for plates/components, pure utility vests like SWAT, SDU etc. shouldn't be a problem right? I can imagine the police dun wanna shoot at an escaping bank robber with bullet-proof body armour! But tactical vests w/o plates or place to insert them should be ok gua? Eg. SEAL CQB, basically is hanging webbing with four(?) big mag pouches...if THAT is not acceptable, then how about those Photographer and fishing vests....should all be banned because can POTENTIALLY carry mags, grenades..... ;D I believe, vests with slot/pouch/capability to carry/insert body armour components or ballistic plates are not allowed....so avoid those body armour replicas. For non-body armour type tactical vests, eg. LAPD SWAT and SDU(level 3 only, not level 4), SEALS (not the MOD MOLLE vest which got front/back ballistic plate capability but just CQB load bearing utility vests types) should be no problem.
Just my two vests....er, I mean two sen! ;D
