Logo & banner designs (courtesy of MySciFiFan Forum member TripleSaber) have been submitted to the 501st Legion Top Brass for consideration.
Here is the proposed Mission Statement for the 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST :
"To Strengthen the Presence of the Galactic Empire and Sith Order in Malaysia and Brunei through Public Appearances and Trooping Activities"

Hello Everyone. First of all, congratulation on establishing an outpost there. It might takes some time, but well worth the effort. Secondly, great job on the logo. I know you guys already submitted the logo. Usually they will respond back with a few modifications that needed to be done before the final approval. I know this because I done logos before for my squadron - Snowy Range Squadron (Mountain Garrison). Here my .02 Imperial credits. I like this one better without the flag banner - just the round logo. Make the center circle smaller (in blue as the flag) so the Imperial logo is more visible and bright yellow on the star and cresent. Don't need that 2 small imperial logos on the side - redundance - just spread out the malaysia outpost (in white) about half way thru the circle and the 501st legion on the bottom 1/4 circle in black. 1. Keep the logo simple and try to keep it to 4 colors. Too many colors look busy and also will cost alot more to do patches and decals. Usually the basic colors are the flag color - red, white blue and yellow. 2. Try to keep the Imperial Logo to black because we are the "Dark Side" ;D unless the back ground is darker. 3. Try not to use gradient or emboss - very hard to do patches and some company don't have the capable of doing it at all. 4. Don't really need a motto - we all know what we are here for in the first place. Most Star Wars fans know that to. So just keep the "Malaysia Outpost" on the top and the "501st Legion" on the bottom. Don't use Stormtrooper and no aurebesh - not many people can read that. 5. Some suggestions on the website - My501.com or My501.my - easy to remember when somebody ask for a site. If possible don't use geocities or yahoogroups - it looks too cheesy. I will try to give more inputs as needed from time to time. Congratulation and fantastic job guys.

Hi Mansugi long time no "see" how are you doing my friend and thanks for contributing to this thread with your inputs. I'll respond to what you have posted accordingly.First of all, congratulation on establishing an outpost there. It might takes some time, but well worth the effort. Actually the activation of the Malaysian Outpost is currently pending approval from the 501st Legion Top Brass. This extract from the last e-mail from the Founding Father himself - Albin Johnson TK210 :
Malaysia and Alaska. Roger that. Peter, if you can get me just three things:
1 - working logo graphic for your new outpost.
2 - mission statement and roster (optional - you may be the only person there)
3 - working website representing the 501st Malaysia Outpost
I can get the ball rolling.
Thanks
- AL (Tk210)
has given me HOPE that all the efforts and esp. PATIENCE will come into fruitution in a matter of time. Mansugi how LONG does it have take before the 501st Legion top brass responds to you with the required modifications that need to be effected before they give their seal of approval? Please share since you have MORE experience in this area than me. On the subject of the proposed Logo for the 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST, this Design #1 being my first preference of the 3 Logos that I submitted to the 501st Legion top brass for their consideration and guidance,
looking at it, it meets / doesn't meet some of the points that you've listed here :
1) Its design has 6 colors instead of 4 colors i.e. Indigo, White, Lt. Grey, Red, Blue & Yellow
2) The OUTER RIM of this Logo is Indigo where I have darkened to this color from the original lighter color. With the white wordings of MALAYSIA OUTPOST 501st LEGION pitted against this Dark Side color, the contrast accentuated these critical words of who this Outpost is.
3) Subtle gradient has been used for the OUTER RIM and the CORE. However these can be modified to make them a single block color. I'm waiting for their comments on this.
4) I'm not sure whether the "motto" you were referring to is the Mission Statement, which happens to be one the PREREQUISITE for creating this 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST. I trust you already have seen the Mission Statement in the posted reply immediately before yours.
If you have noticed I had the word "STORMTROOPER" deleted as it is very misleading given the impression that you NEED to own a set of Stormtrooper armor to qualify for membership. Hoewever, I have let the Aurabesh wordings remain in the Middle Rim.
Note : Full credit goes to TripleSaber, who has been MIA from MySciFiFan forums since his last post on June 29, for this design. In that case can you list down a few freesites that I can use and something that is USER FRIENDLY and even NON-IT web designers like me can set up without much difficulties. I'll be glad to migrate from the existing geocities website if you can find me this. Thanks, mansugi and I look forward to your inputs as I'm doing what I can to get the 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST started ASAP, which is long, long overdue (delay was not at my end heh!)

What ever happen to Triplesaber?
I will try a put together a logo for you this weekend - base on that original logo. Maybe I will tweak it a little bit.
I will try and contact Albin and get more info about the outpost. From the charter, you don't need to put your "motto" on the logo. Also if your look inthe site 501stlegion.com, most (98%) of the garrisons only have one imperial logo.
Talk to you later.

What ever happen to Triplesaber? That is a GOOD Question which I would very much like to have an ANSWER as much as you do. TripleSaber was showing so much enthusiasm in helping us to get the 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST started, contributed some Logo and Banner designs, some of which I have submitted to the 501st Legion top brass, then suddenly VANISHED from the forums!! When I last checked with Dplik, MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent's Stormtrooper Officer , it seems that this TripleSaber's Stormtrooper Armor project has encountered some INDEFINITE set back..... Perhaps this would have explained his disappearance from this HAPPENING MySciFiFan forums.YES, YES please DO. I really appreciate it and see whether you can cut down the number of colors from 6 to 4 based on the Logo that I have submitted to the 501st Legion Top Brass. Perhaps you can also do away with the Aurabesh writing and the two smaller Imperial Logos on the Left & Right on the main Logo due to the REASONS that you have stated in your earlier response.
Looking forward to see the END RESULT posted here in this thread. Thanks! Alright, please check with Albin Johnson TK210 - will you be e-mailing or calling him up personally - with regards to the CURRENT STATUS of the 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST to see when it will be approved and activated. I'm also waiting to hear from TK 895, the 501st Legion's Membership Officer on the finalisation of my membership, inwhich he has indicated to be that I will be admitted as an Imperial Royal Guard to the 501st Legion. ;D (Yes, I have been trooping around most recently as the Red Guard throughout Malaysia, just check out the pics from the Star Wars EpIII VCD/DVD Roadshow, 12-13 November 2005 thread and you will know what I'm talking about. )
Hey I thought that the official URL link to the 501st Legion's website is www.501st.com and not 501stlegion.com

5. Some suggestions on the website - My501.com or My501.my - easy to remember when somebody ask for a site. If possible don't use geocities or yahoogroups - it looks too cheesy. Mansugi, I agree with you that geocities website is cheesy Therefore, can you help the soon to be formed 501st LEGION-MALAYSIA OUTPOST by creating a uber cool website for us. Please e-mail me at sith_overlord2001@yahoo.com for the website contents in which I have drafted out but can't be implemented due to some dysfunctional features when I attempted to upgrade the existing geocities website for the Malaysia 501st!

Hi Peter, I manage to puth this together this morning while having my breakfast. Let me know what you think. Mansugi, thank you for your contribution. However, IMHO this logo don't reflect what the 501st LEGION - MALAYSIA OUTPOST stands for. Will APPRECIATE it very much instead that you effect these 3 modifications as I have listed to this ORIGINAL logo that I have submitted to the 501st Legion's Officer Council :
1. REDUCE the number of colors from 6 to 4 Solid Colors. The PRIMARY COLORS of BLUE, YELLOW, RED and WHITE should be the 4 Solid Colors.
2. RETAIN the Aurabesh writings, but REMOVE and the two smaller Imperial Logos on the Left & Right
3. INCORPORATE the WHITE OUTLINES that represents the Silhoutte of PENINSULAR MALAYSIA and NORTH BORNEO (covering Sabah, Sarawak and BRUNEI) against the background STARTING from the Middle Rim right to the Centre Rim.
These 3 points above came from 1 solid hour of studying ALL 55 of the 501st Legion Garrison & Outpost Logos (including your Mountain Garrison) 11 of the 501st Detachment Logos that were posted on the 501st Legion: Garrisons, Outposts, Squads, and Detachments webpage.
Looking forward to see the modifications based on my 3 abovementioned points. Thanks.

I will ask my garrison web guy if he knows any good/cheap site. I am sorry I cannot help in that department. I am not that good designing site, but I will ask around. Mansugi, please let us know what was the website you have used for your own 501st Mountain Garisson Wesbite at www.mg501.com
Looks impressive! Suggest that you can get in touch with your 501st Mountain Garisson Webmaster to get his/her assistance in helping this soon to be activated 501st LEGION - MALAYSIA OUTPOST to have a website that is similar to this? PLMK.
