The 501st MALAYSIA-BRUNEI OUTPOST is extremely delighted to participate in this very FIRST 501st LEGION joint trooping exercise in Asia, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars and the 10th Anniversary of the 501st Legion. Here is a picture of the Official Logo designed for this event by TB 6691, the CO of the 501st Singapore Garrison :
Together with us, members from the 501st Japanese and Singapore Garrisons, the 501st Outposts of Philippines and our host Taiwan, will converge on Taipei city on October 5th to 8th to do what the 501st does best - Celebrate the Star Wars saga through costuming and contribute to charity.
In total, 34 Imperial troopers plus numerous support staff will be making their way to the Taiwanese capital to mark the 30th Anniversary celebration. The 501st Taiwan Formosa Outpost members have been working for the better part of nine months in putting this event together, due in no small part to the Herculean effort by their Outpost Leader TD 1668 himself in securing venues and sponsors.
The event will also mark the first time that all Commanding Officers from the Asia region would be present at a single event.
Some of the event highlights include:
Imperial March with Country Flag Colour Guard Giant 30th Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremony Charity fund raise photo taken to benefit Genesis Social Welfare Foundation Taiwan
Stay tune for pictures and updates when the 501st MALAYSIA-BRUNEI OUTPOST touches down in Taipei on the evening of October 5th.

Just curious, are all participants paying their own way for this trip? Or is there some kind of subsidy?

By the phone call confirmation at 16:36pm to the home airport arrival of the elite troopers from Japan Garrison, mark the sucess finish to the events of Star Wars 30th and 501st 10th Asian 501st joint trooping event. Minutes after I hang up my cell phone chat of Maki whom just arrived at Japan Narita Airport, I couldn't help myself by relese all my emotion that kept holding in my heart for the past 5 days and broke to tears. Named elite troopers from Malaysia-Brunei Outpost, Philippine Outpost, Singapore Garrison, Japan Garrison and of course our own Taiwan Outpost overcome the direct hitting of the one of the four recorded biggest hurricane in the past 100 years - "Typhoon Korosa". During the early morning of 10/6, every and each bravly troopers transfer the heavy armor under "devil" wind and rainstorm from doorstep of hotel to coach that park short distance away. The whole transfer of armor done once again when one of the coach emergency exit roof top blow away by strong wind and swiftly ordered of a new coach. Asian 501st troopers were all cheer up disregard the whole coach were actually shaking on freeway to mission site of shopping mall and members of Taiwan Outpost drove bravly by private vehicle on freeway under hurricane... Though with much persuade words from myself and Garry of event host company, the shopping mall decided to open and go-on for event at the very last minute but the whole mission run-down of 10/6 was serious affected. However...all of our mighty elite troopers adopted to all of the sudden changed to schedule and perform flawlessly to the relatively few visitors at shopping Mall until the unstable of electricity and flood at basement to the whole shopping mall, the mall was forced to close businesss at 17:30. To the next day event of 10/7, the hurricane was leaving Taiwan and the original schedule of that day remain the same. The full parking of shopping mall mark the giant amount of mall visitors. Spirit of all elite troopers were even higher since then. Everything seems smooth but at the very last minute...we were informed to perform all 2 days event mission in that very 1 day of 10/7. Again...all of our mighty elite troopers adopted the sudden changed of event and did proud to our world-wide legion in front of the flow to 2,000+ local mall visitors! More then words with a simply big THANK YOU to all of the named attended elite Asian 501st troopers and especially to COs of Peter, Manny, Paul and Yasu! I could not go on with tears again now and please kindly wait for the upcomming detailed mission reports that already drafted up by lovly PR of this event - Regina from Philippine Outpost. THANK YOU! SALUTE! Roy Waung CO XO GML GPR GWL 501st Taiwan Formosa Outpost

Cool That's really a milestone for Asian 501st legion Garrisons. Thanks for the compliments Jaden Lee and here is what the TAIPEI TIMES online called us all when carried ON with our trooping mission on 6 OCTOBER 2007 at MetroWalk Shopping Mall right through Typhoon Krosa :[glow=red,2,300]TYPHOON TROOPERS[/glow] A group of Imperial Stormtroopers belonging to the Asian based 501st Legion formations gathered yesterday at the MetroWalk Shopping Mall in Jhongli City, Taoyuan County, to celebrate the release of the first STAR WARS movie on May 25, 1977. This Asian 501st Legion troopers consisted of STAR WARS fans from Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia-Brunei and the Philippines. (Paraphrased from the Taipei Time's online article Typhoon Troopers for accuracy of data and facts. I'm sure you will have no problem identifying us in this group photo)I'm collating and uploading whatever pictures that come my way and archiving them at the 501st MALAYSIA-BRUNEI OUTPOST's FIRST 501st Asian Garrison / Outpost Joint Trooping (Taipei, TAIWAN) online Photo Album.
