You could've just asked me Rhyden, I can get 6mm, 7mm and 8mm sheet aluminum quite easily here, and they'll cut the exact measurement you need. They sell by weight though...let me know how much you need and I'll get a quote for you. I can only get them to you in December though, unless someone goes to KL before that and is willing to take it along... *smacks head* Why do you guys in Sabah seem to have all the access to steel and aluminium sheets, Pol?? I am getting envious. ;D Do you know how much per kilo are they selling and how much are the cutting charges? I am running through my head right now as to what I can do with the material to really test it out - dishing, engraving properties. Most likely I would end up making Aragorn's coronation pauldrons. So... we are looking at a 2' x 2' 7mm sheet? Sliced into 4 1'x1' panels so that it won't be such a pain to carry. I would appreciate the quote... because if my first experiment works... I may need to speak to you on how to go about this on a longer term basis... I am looking to make aluminium sword blanks. Anyway, I am hijacking Loneranger's thread... so, let do this via PM or email shall we? Thanks again, Pol! *rubs hands gleefully*

Oh! I remember that site! Mighty silly of me not to remember it. As soon as you are able to afford it, Loneranger, you should really scramble like mad to get all the things in and work on it. Best of luck! ;D

Let me see......I have read how a fellow Scout's Rubies Helmet just fall apart while he was marching in US. Just think how it'll be in countries like Malaysia and Singapore. And think; If the Don Post '97 one can get bend out of shape here and there due to poor storage, just imagine what will happen with the Rubies one. Rubies are always meant as a quick Halloween or Costume Party fix, never as a good replica or long-term costume wearing. And in order to keep the pricetag low enough so most people can afford it, they also use inferior materials. They may say they are using Don Post Mould but what's the point if they still using inferior/lower quality materials to make it? Please listen to people who had done their research and started on it, like MandalorianBleahhh instead of those who agak-agak.
