Well done Kal! No wonder I sensed a disturbance in the Force! I knew a new Sith Lord was about to rise!
Do post pics of yourself in the full costume soon!
Again, congrats!

Thank you, most wise Jedi (which I shall soon hunt down... ) ... my next project is a scratch built reveal neck brace, coz I don't want my back to be exposed when I'm Darthin around!

Oh you may want to paint the wire mesh black. Looks rather weird in white...

It's actually a matter of preference. I've seen pics of fan made FG buckets (Celtic Touch comes to mind) which retain a white mesh rather than black. I like white coz it contrasts better with the gloss black/gun metal color scheme. Plus, it hides the wearer's face better than black. But thaanks for the suggestion!

Sure, your bucket, your choice
Yes white does hide the wearer's face better then black, and yes I've seen others who did that.
I know where you can get a movie accurate fan made super high quality Vader shoulder armour for around 1K, you interested?

Not at the moment... but the GT 2006 FG version looks absolutely super cool... selling about the same price too. I'm settling for the Rubies version which I will also give a good auto paint treatment so that it looks like FG. Hopefully that'll come out fine.

Again, well done on the neck brace, very cool looking! And for the neck brace you get one Karma point from me.
Now, get working on a latex covering complete with scars and healed burnt marks for the back of your head! ;D

Tempting, but tha's not my priority now... have to get the rest of the Vader suit done up. I was also contemplating on sawing my faceplate in half and do full ROTJ reveal helmet, but I chickened out.

Some more pics, this time with my 70% completed makeshift Vader ANH lightsaber hilt. I've added hairclips at the side of the neckbrace... a further 60 sen investment. The saber is a "stunt" prop that I plan to attach to the costume. I still need a control box... I'll probably use parts of a scart adapter for that. I also need a d-ring and attach it to the hose ring/fastener, which I will finally cover. It's amazing once you've started building a prop... you just can't stop yourself!! ;D
