More pics of my work in progress Vader: It's amazing how shiny it gets with 3 coats of automotive paint (inclusive of clearcoat). Here's a pic of it with my shin guards... also 3 coats. Polishing it with some Turtle Wax makes it even more shinier. A look at my ESB chestbox. I'm currently working on the belt boxes... also waiting for the aluminium buckle I ordered. With that I've got all the necessary hard parts. Onto the soft parts... boy do I need a break. ;D I'm interested in the chest armor and shin guard mods. Where did you paint them and what was the costs? Did you tell them what color to paint? Regards, Darth Raider

No. I bought some Krylon auto paint at Ace Hardware, masked it appropriately and did it myself.

I only got the hard parts, Pol... got it off a Belgian guy on the RPF. The rest of the stuff have to make myself. But I did hear about the body suit being shiny... but they rectified that with the V2... looks more leathery. I see...I was of the impressionyou bought a complete Rubies costume.
At least with all the armoured parts procured the rest would be a lot easier...

The blacks were Krylon Fusion Black Glossy. The gunmetal part is from Duplicolor (for trucks and SUVs) Gunmetal. I was lucky to find the latter in Ace... that was their last can... good thing that was enough! For the clearcoat, I used Pylon Clear spray. No. I bought some Krylon auto paint at Ace Hardware, masked it appropriately and did it myself. Krylon Fusion? May I know the specific color code? Regards, Darth Raider

I just wonder about "Darth", the "Stormtrooper", "Royal Guard", "TIE Pilot", do you have any modified ventilation/fans inside the helmet (somemore some got extra cloak, as if not warm enough!)? Or can you helmet costumers breath ok thru the gaps and holes that are already part of the helmet? I ask because if someone out there is considering to buy any helmet costume, need to consider this as well (potential time/cost issue)... (hope I'm not thread hijacking here...hehe) I'm SO glad you asked that question CP. For your information, all the members with helmeted costumes in the MySciFiFan Costume Contingent were wearing special suits underneath with cooling coil sandwiched between the material, and a mini compressor on their belt pumping refrigirant through the coil. The suit comes complete with a hood so even the head is kept cool.
This suit was originally developed by the Pentagon for US soldiers in Kuwait during operation Desert Storm, and was only declassified last year. Now you can buy it freely on ebay, so we made a bulk order.
I have one spare, brand new suit. Kal has mentioned he's interested, but if he change his mind someone else can have it. So Kal, you still want it? ;D What's the product name? Wanna check the spec + pic...
