FLAGSHIP ECLIPSE - DARTH NIHILUS, accepted Costuming Standards
Nihilusgs in response to your other posted comments on sourcing for the appropriate materials to make the Hood, Cape and Robe of Darth Nihilus KOTOR II version,
please refer to what the FLAGSHIP ECLIPSE Detachment Leader have posted in Darth Nihilus costume breakdown/standards/tutorial - yes you click onto the Underlined text. It says that the following,
- Hood/shroud (Depending on which version of Nihilus you create, this will either be a seperate piece or directly attached to the cape.
-Cape (Nihilus does not wear a Jedi/Sith style robe in any current versions)
Cape is attached in different ways according to which version you choose to make. In the KOTOR II game, it looks to attach to the shoulders while in all artwork, it ties in a knot under the chin.
Choose a lightweight fabric with great drape for your cape.
-Sleeveless inner robe
- Obi/Sash: Choose fabric that matches the inner robe.
- Tight fitting, smooth textured shirt worn under inner robe.
From my experience in making Sith Robes - yes I've been trooping as Darth Sidious / Emperor Palpatine with the MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent back in 2005, I advise that you source for a MEDIUM WEIGHT Black Fabric, and NOT too Lightweight. You need the DENSITY of the fabric to give you the REQUIRED shape of the KOTOR II Darth Nihilus Cape and Hood. TRUST me on this. [/color]

I'll be making the KOTOR II version of Nihilus,so his robe and cape doesnt have tatters. For the inner robe,I'll probably buy medium weight black satin. For the cape,I will try to get the lightest possible fabric for it so it doesnt drag the costume backwards.please refer to what the FLAGSHIP ECLIPSE Detachment Leader have posted in Darth Nihilus costume breakdown/standards/tutorial - yes you click onto the Underlined text.
