yup the prices of star wars thing has indeed dropped...good news for me as I have just seriously started collecting starwars 2007.....i guess most collectors are shifting focus to other title and the heat for star wars item are dosing...imagine there is no taker for a POTF fx xwing that I am helping my friend to let go. He bought it well over the price that he is selling now... There are many many categories of collecting, be it SW, anime, or antiques...
To generalise and say 'the heat for star wars item are dosing' is somewhat incorrect, because though demand for the run-of-the-mill, mass produced off-the-shelf items have indeed waned, there is still a LOT of buying and selling for higher end items like those produced by SideShow, Master Replicas, Gentle Giant, and eFX.
And then there's the HUGE fan made props market, which I imagine can rival Hasbro in terms of total sales volume, simply because so many individuals around the world are making so many items for sale at any one time...
Star Wars collecting is still very much alive; you just have to know where to look...
