We are pleased to hear that. I advise you to start thinking of the Star Wars character and costume you wish to join up with MySciFiFan for the Grand Premiere on 19 May 2005. Remember the countdown to SW Episode III has started and it now LESS than 100 days to 19 May 2005.

Cinema Online is exploring the level of interest in doing a Star Wars III event, regardless of whether you are a Cinema Online Magazine reader/subscriber or website member. Just like the dual-location screenings we had in 2002 for Episode II, we will be looking at doing something a bit (or a lot, depending on available resources, partners, sponsors, participants, etc) bigger.
Just to give you an idea of the possible scale:
In November 2002, one month before TTT, Cinema Online gathered a small alliance of sponsors and participants and ran a mini carnival on the scale of Amcorp Mall's west wing concourse on a Saturday. We did a re-run screening of FOTR in Amcorp Mall Cineplex that evening.
In 2003, We tied up with more than double the number of sponsors and partners and ran a full blown carnival at 20 times the scale of Amcorm Mall in terms of sponsorship, participating partners, and ran for the whole weekend. On the opening week of ROTK, we ran trilogy marathons for the day shift as well as an overnight shift, and it was taken up so quickly that we had to get another slot for another one in January 2004.
In comparison, for Star Wars II in 2002, the event was confined to the time of the screening, with dress-ups, activities, sponsored prizes, and some merchandising. We packaged a ticket to the whole event at RM19 to RM29 and it included the screening, Cinema Online's innaugural issue (Star Wars Episode II), and an exclusive Star Wars II Poster not sold in Malaysia at that time.
The basic that we can start off an event for Star Wars III this year would probably be from the level of our previous one, with screenings in 3 or even more locations, package it with our May 2005 Star Wars III special Issue, an exclusive poster, and priced at RM19 to RM29 again to similarly cover its costs. How much more we can expand on this, grow it, or blow it up really depends on who we can add on to the alliance.
Where we go from here is open for discussion. 3 years ago, there wasn't a forum like this too.
Join us, and together we shall rule the galaxy....

Thanks for visiting CinemaOnline ;D
Hmm... Prequel Trilogy Marathon comes to mind. Episodes I, II and III all in order, 6-7 hours!
Who would want this?

no way. one either starts puking because of the absurdity of the scene, rolls around on the floor laughing, or shakes his head in disbelief. me ? i just smiled through it. a little inclined towards disbelief though.

Is there enough interest here to organise a fully decked out costumed parade and gathering to watch the premier? If we have 10 to 20 dedicated fans with costumes then we can pull this off. How to get costumes? I'm not very clear.... Btw, to SaberMaster, where r u flying from since u mention about need someone 2 pick u up at the airport?
