I agree. If GL wants to create a sitcom, he will probably do it on something other than SW. It just wouldn't feel right.

So what has been confrimed about the TV series? Basically nothing except that there will be one animated and one live action, according to both George Lucas & Rick McCallum. The live action series will have 100 episodes planned (over the course of several seasons, or series as you'd call them ) to satisify the minimum amount episodes required for syndication. Shooting will take place in Australia, according to Rick McCallum. Those are the facts. Speculation however is a free-for-all brawl. Aint It Cool News.com speculates like nobody's business. Young Han Solo & Chewbacca series. Young Luke Skywalker series. Young Boba Fett series. Anthology series, with a format like the Outer Limits. Your guess is as good as mine, at this point.

of those speculations Hisham mentioned, I'm personally fine with any of those, except a Young Luke Skywalker series. this only because we already know that Luke had a pretty boring life on Tatooine (he whined about it all the time after all) and there was nothing exciting enough to be put into a series. What ? Luke and his various teeny romances ? One Tree Hill, The OC and Smallville feeds me enough of those already.

I agree. There's no way an exciting space-opera TV show can show the adventures of Luke Skywalker, and have him say that Tatooine is the furthest point from the bright center of the universe in ANH.

Let's speculate then!
For the live-action series, expect there'll be some outcast Jedi as a main character perhaps with a disillusioned Republic officer who decided to leave after formation of the Empire. They'll be skirting with Rebel factions beginning to form and perhaps run into some notable figures like Mon Mothma and possible Bail Organa (guess starring). To hype OTC fans, there'll probably be a few episodes each season with special appearances by younger version of the famous characters such as Han Solo, Boba Fett, Jar-Jar Binks (yuk!), Chewbecca, Tarkin, etc. Heck they would even feature Vader (anyone can wear suit right?) and Yoda (digital character)!
That being said, GL probably having this online eyes to snoop what fans are discussing and do something totally different... ;D

I personally like to see some OT bounty hunters, such as IG88, 4 LOM, Bossk etc.

I personally like to see some OT bounty hunters, such as IG88, 4 LOM, Bossk etc. Ooo.. a Bounty Hunter's Guild series would be great. They should focus on a new character, a new hunter in the guild, but have the famous hunters appear as guest stars every week. Boba Fett can even be a recurring character. That way they can send the character to other parts of the galaxy every week so we can see the other aspects of the Star Wars galaxy, like Black Sun, Corellian Merchant Guild, Hutt kajidics, Corporate Sector Authority, maybe even the other Force using minorities in the galaxy like the Baran Do sages and the Zeison Sha adepts. Every week, the hunters will face one of these factions. It would be great.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Bounty Hunters, hunting down the remaining Jedi. Or what about a series on The formation and missions of Rogue Squadren?

Bounty hunters might try to go for Jedi, but the Empire has their own people for hardcore Jedi hunting: The High Inquisitor and the Inquisitorius. I guess they can be part of the background, commissioning experienced bounty hunters after Jedi and under their strict supervision.
