what a pity, Aayla Secura died so easily in ROTS but here is what i read: --------------------------- George Lucas revealed that Aayla Secura will survive Episode III and won't, as originally planned, die on Felucia. Lucasfilm Ltd. also hinted that Aayla may, in turn, appear in an hour-long Star Wars Television series, in which production will begin in 2006. This television show will chronologically take place between the events of Episodes III and IV. Aayla Secura can possibly be a major player in this series, as she is one of the last remaining Jedi, apart from Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi. Aayla will be reappearing in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anakin_Solo-------------------------------------- huh? did she die or not???

the movie is canon. nothing written can go againts that i believe. only way to change, is for Lucas to remove the scene of Secura dying from the Episode III DVD release.

Hmm.... Well, but then again technically since Lucas *is* the creator and master of *this* universe he can do what he pleases now can't he? Plus we don't know for certain whether she died or not right? I mean, in the movie all we see is her falling and being blasted and then the camera zooms out and then becomes obstructed by a giant leaf/flower thingy. So, I think if she does appear in the TV series, they'll have a pretty good explainationas to why she survives ;D Just my RM0.02

good point. Lucas is cunning to leave the subtle ambiguity. we could also argue that Windu did not die either. no, i'm not being sarcastic. seriously its argueble too. yea.

When I watched it the first time, I was kinda expecting Master Windu to pop up somewhere later in the movie to save the day or something. I mean, the way he died was kinda disappointing ler. I mean he could've survived. Think about it, Anakin in Ep2.... Remember, he jumps from the speeder they were in and using the Force landed on Zam Wessel's aircar right? Well but arguably he did have support ler.... Hmm.... Ponder on this I shall...

It's very easy to let Aayla Secura live because her character has not been explored yet. We really don't know much about her race, so GL can literally give her some kind of special alien powers to survive the attack. maybe her body composition allows her to absorb the blasts and play dead? Maybe she's resusitated and given a new lease of life by the plants around her, much like cats brought cat Woman back to life? Anything's possible. personally I'd love to see Amy Allen in the TV series.
[Begin Log] It is with a sad and heavy heart that I report Master Windu did not make it. Being his one and only apprentice, I rushed to Coruscant immediately upon learning of what transpired. It was fortunate that they were not looking for Jedis in the underbelly of Coruscant, thus I was able to go about my business without being detected.
After searching for a whole week, I managed to recover Master Windu's remains on the ledge of a nearby building from where he dueled with the evil Lord Sidious and was betrayed by Anakin Skywalker. I also managed to recoverd his Lightsaber, and shall continue to use it in his honour.
Master Windu’s remains have been brought back to Haruun Kal for burial will full honours befitting a Jedi master.

Aayla Secura had quite some showing in expanded universe materials, particularly the Republic series comics. From Padawan to Jedi Knight under Master Quilan Vos. She's a Twilek, right? Don't recall that species has powers to survive multiple blaster wounds...
