Do you think if I crash at warp speed my airbags inflate in time to save me? put it this way: you're FASTER than speed of light. what do YOU think???

Bet if I use a round-a-bout at warp speed i can go back in time.

There were only 2 occasions where ST touch time travel, in ST:Voyage Home(movie #4, i think - was that the name of the movie) and there was an episode in TNG where they encountered multiple/parallel universes. But it's very hazy to my recollection... If i understand the physics of what this physicists are proposing, during your travel, you'll be "out of space/time". Hence, warp. From there you... travel. But in order to go backwards, you need to warp time, which at this moment in time (pun not intended) is not possible. anybody care to debunk?

The Voyager series touches on time travel on numerous occassions. There was one episode where Kim & Chakotay travel back in time to fix it so they won't be the only surviving member of the entire crew when Voyager attempted to use a new transwarp drive to get home in a matter of hours, but then Voyager got flung out of the transwarp conduit and crashed on a planet.
In another episode, 'Year Of Hell', the Voyager went through, well, a year of hell battling aliens while forced to move through their space to cut down travelling time. After al that, when the end seem to be near(the ship was damaged beyond repair) they were thrusted back to a year ago before they went through the alien space. If i understand the physics of what this physicists are proposing, during your travel, you'll be "out of space/time". Hence, warp. From there you... travel. But in order to go backwards, you need to warp time, which at this moment in time (pun not intended) is not possible. anybody care to debunk? By its very application, Warp technology IS what make time travel possible, since it works by encapsuling a vessel in a bubble which is separated from the existing space and time, therefore insulating the occupants inside the bubble from the effect of time dialation assotiated with faster-then-light tarvel.

But it's very hazy to my recollection... Only two?? ST is filled with time travels episodes, from TOS all the way to Enterprise. That's why Starfleet's even set up its own Department of Temporal Investigations. Why, the great James T. Kirk himself has the distinction of being involved in 17 different temporal violations. Examples of time travel episodes: TOS - City on the Edge of Forever, Tomorrow is Yesterday TNG - any episode with Q, also Time's Arrow DS9 - Trials and Tribble-ations Voy - the most notorious use of time travels in the ST universe, mainly for "reboot" purposes Enterprise - Shockwave Movies - ST IV, First Contact

sorry laaaah! yours truly can only recall those 2 *most* prominent ones. didn't have the luxury of dvd's or repeats as all i got was whatever being shown on terristerial tv!
anyway, time travel in itself is risky thing. Stephen Hawkings once put across this: If time travel WAS possible, chances are ppl would have visited from the future. And uptil now, elek.
Either that or nobody dares to risk time travelling for the fact that a very simple change could easily cause a ripple and completely modify the present/future?

Maybe they HAVE visited from the future, but masked their presence to avoid contaminating the timeline...Either that or nobody dares to risk time travelling for the fact that a very simple change could easily cause a ripple and completely modify the present/future? Thus the need for Relativity, the time ship I currently command ;D

but if you CAN visit us and you CAN'T change anything, why bother to travel??? Like watching movie knowing what's going to happen but finding out how it happened... same reasoning as watching Star Wars Prequels I to III...

but if you CAN visit us and you CAN'T change anything, why bother to travel??? When u travel thru time, u r just a "traveller" ... i.e. a tourist shouldn't interfere the current affairs of the host country u visited ... so u shouldn't mass with the timeline of the current reality, rite?
