Remember the futuristic roll-up portable piano from Mataline II played by Lt Cmdr Nella Daren, the lover of Picard, in TNG ep "Lessons"? Now futuristic musical instrument is turning into a reality ... at S$49 only. More details here: www.startrek.com.sg/news2007/lessons.html

That episode was aired in 1993, so its been 14 years since we first saw the roll-up, portable piano. Not a surprise its now available to the general public, and for a mere S$49.
Now what I'd really like to see before I leave this earth, are the replicator, and the transporter ;D

Interesting u mentioned "holodeck" ... which is simulated by a combination of replicated matter animated with tractor beams, as well as shaped force fields onto which holographic images are projected.
So before "holodeck" can be invented, human race need to invent "replicator", "tractor beam", and "force field" first. ;D

As i recall, the transporter is some of it, was used on an apple and it was succesfully transported! Of course, this is all solid state stuff. Not in our life time to test for us homo sapiens... Hologram, I think I read somewhere abt it. Being perfected by the US military as usual... Replicator: If you can transport an apple, surely you have the workings of replicating one?

You sure you dont wanna hang around for the holodeck as well...? If the Transporter & Replicator becomes a reality then the Holodeck would already be there, or not far off. They all share about the same technology
