I miss the View posts since last login feature that is available on the startrek.com.my Proboards is currently a free online forum provider. The online forum used by startrek.com.my is subscribed, most generously donated by hardcore Trekkies. Perhaps the '10 most recent posts' in the lower right corner of the main index screen could be of similar use. Also look out for threads marked with 'NEW' for postings since your last visit. Thanks.

Having used Forums that has similar mode to this, I'll really appreciate it if the Tags Buttons are "Auto"; when in need to make some words bold or italic etc, just highlight the words and click on the appropiate button to code it as being Bold or something.

Loved the user friendly icons and the colors used are indeed wonderful. I would like to say thank you to the moderators for having Homer as an icon. Anyway the biggest draw to the forum is the " streamyx friendly" attitudes. LOL. Congratulations.

I applaud all who are responsible for this friendly and easy to use forum. It's nice to find a place where I can talk Star Wars and D&D without the usual bickering and childishness I've encountered on too many other sites from their members. This place and SWAG are easily my favourite forums right now. Well done guys. ;D

The ADMINS and MODS here DO NOT TOLERATE bickering and childishness, and people who take offence easily, because we all came from forums which has too much of all that. Hopefully one day the myscififan forum will have the resources to be hosted in a paid site where there'll be more control of the forum and better features for its members.
We want to make this a really fun place to come, but at the same time prevent any kind improper and negativity elements from ruining it

Thanks for the excellent feedbacks IG78 and Jorrigun. Much appreciated and our (Admins and Mods) spirits are uplifted by your nice comments. ;D Haldir I see your point on the Auto feature. Give us sometime to find out directly from www.ProBoards.com (the webhoster) and find out whether the said feature can be incorporated here.

I have some comments about the forum topics. Just a glance I notice that there is a "special treatment" for SW but that's probably because there are many SW fans here. But I sense that the forum is heading the destruction path the Bluehyppo was heading: over-partitioning topics. You can go and take a look at Bluehyppo forum and you will see what I mean. The forum has plenty of "division" too many that requires you to scroll down the page so much that you'd probably got lost trying to find a topic of interest. Also that forum contains too many repeated topics (exact or similar in nature). Many other foreign forums that I've visited normally have a very concise forum frontpage/mainpage. At the mainpage, you'd probably see only the main "headings" or "main topics" of the forum like: "Star Wars", "Star Trek", "Sci-fi Movies", "Sci-fi TV Series", Sci-fi Books", "Fantasy Movies", "Gerenal" etc. The reason for not having too many partitions of topics is because you will have a hard time getting people to post at these topics. You might get one or two posts per week which I think is really really poor and more or less like a dead topic (just like in Bluehyppo). So instead of making all the main "headings" these headings could just be your "discussion threads" in your subpage. Another positive thing about making them "discussion thread" is that when no one is posting at the topic, that is a pretty good indication that it is no a hot topic anymore and people are most likely concentrating on the newer thread/topic (which is naturally on top of the subpage if there is new post). So instead of having SW Collectibles, Anime Trading, Other tradings etc (just an example), you can have a main heading "Trading" with description like ... "a place for you to find/sell/trade etc". Instead of having Star Trek/Babylon/BattlestarGalactica/etc you can just have a "Sci-fi TV series" and then all the posts will reside within the link to a subpage that contains all sci-fi series mixed together. I don't think it will be confusing cos the heading to each post/thread should be clear that the topic is about which series. Besides, this is a good way to keep the newer/hotter topics on top of the page hence you can guarenttee that the subpage will not die eventually when a series got cancelled or not showing on tv anymore or when a movie is not "in" anymore (after a few months probably it's shown in cinema). I hope you get what I am trying to say. And I hope I haven't offended anyone (especially the forum designer ). It's not too late to revamp the forum I believe since it's still rather new and there aren't that many posts yet.
