I hope you get what I am trying to say. And I hope I haven't offended anyone (especially the forum designer ). It's not too late to revamp the forum I believe since it's still rather new and there aren't that many posts yet. The MySciFiFan Admin Team Members are open to views and feedbacks from Registered Forum members so long as it is not to insult anyone or to be a TROLL in MySciFiFan forums. The Admin team has discussed on the directions of the forums and do not see the need to revamp the forum as the DIRECTION is for the forums to EVOLVE naturally based on the current latest interests to keep things FRESH. K9 for your info I am the MySciFiFan Admin Team Member who expanded the forum's STAR WARS Sections and if you have any personal grouses which I can sense from your remarks, " Just a glance I notice that there is a "special treatment" for SW but that's probably because there are many SW fans here. But I sense that the forum is heading the destruction path the Bluehyppo was heading: over-partitioning topics" please refrain from making these unwelcome remarks in your subsequent posted replies.

Constructive feedback is always valued.
The forum did start with less categories and boards. The Star Wars category was spun-off on its own owing that the highly anticipated EpisodeIII is coming so best not to clutter Star Wars related events, costumes, collectibles, props, etc. with all other categories at this time.
As other huge genre events come along, say Harry Potter, and there's enough member interest, a new category for it could be similarly setup with its own boards.
For unpopular boards, we could make the amalgamate them if they remain stale after some time by moving topics into a common board.
Thanks.

I did say that "I hope I did not offend anyone" and it was not meant to be a "remark". Besides, I thought spending time writing the almost "fullpage" of post with enough explanation of what I think which include many examples would not qualify it as a mere grouch. You gotta agree that my post was constructive in many ways, at least I'm giving my ideas (and being honest to you guys) and honestly I expect a more open minded treatment to my post perhaps like the one fishyahoo has given. Maybe it's because of the way I wrote my post with the use of "" which could have been interpreted as some sort of sarcasm but I honestly did not intend for it to be. It is only a way for me to highlight the main thing in a sentence. Hmm, so....

Perhaps sometimes written messages do not translate to the intended tone as one would convey when speaking in person. Let's not blow this out of proportion to overshadow the original intent of your posting, which is to provide constructive comment on the forum. We accept there is always room for improvement and will take your comments into consideration. Peace all

It is only a way for me to highlight the main thing in a sentence. Hmm, so.... Thank you for being open about this. I advise you to highlight the word or sentence in bold (or in color as you wish ) instead of using "_____". This is the appropriate and effective way of highlighting the main thing in a sentence and mitigate the risk of sending out wrong signals to the readers in the forums who might interpret them differently from you.

Great site guys. I seem to find it hard to read though.
For some reason I find white backgrounds with black text easier on the eyes.

A little opinion: Can you make the "Wink" EmotionCon belonging to the same type as the rest? It looked very out of place compared to the rest and when used in post as it belong to a forum whose background is white or light colors.

Haldir, we've finally found the time to go back to the source where these Smileys came from and changed them accordingly, amongst them this "Wink" Emoticon that you have pointed out. Here is a list of the Emoticons that I've updated here at the MySciFiFan Forums : SMILE from to this new image : WINK from to this new emoticon : ...and the same goes for the sad faced emoticon, now let's have a Blue frowning smiley - , shall we? ;D

The emoticons at another local forum is still the coolest and most expressive, and can convey emotions way better then what we have here...
I especially like the 'lol' smiley: The 'laugh' smiley: The 'Razz' smiley: The 'Dry Stare' smiley: And the 'Blink' smiley:
But these are the ones that have the white borders around them. It'll be great if they can be cleaned up and incorporated into this forum, but its entirely up to the Admins if they want to spend the time on this. Just my personal preference ;D
