A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

STAR WARS D20RPG

It is a time of unrest in the galaxy. EMPEROR PALPATINE rules the GALACTIC EMPIRE with an iron fist, assisted by his apprentice, the evil Lord of the Sith DARTH VADER. The Republic Senate is but a shadow of its former glory, with Senators from every planet either in full support of the Emperor's policies as mere stooges or weak dissenters without the power to change the ruling government from within.

Rebellion runs strife throughout the Empire, but in a state of disarray and disunity. Various splinter groups rear their heads in defiance before being crushed to the ground under the pounding boots of stormtroopers. The military might of the Empire remains the strongest deterrent in all of the galaxy, with none able to stand in its way.

JACEN TAINER, a young man with a good heart buried beneath the troubles of living in a galaxy that has known no peace for almost 20 years leaves his homeworld of Alderaan in search of fortune and glory.

SO CUN, a pioneering Kel-Dorian that seeks his way in life, searching for something, but not knowing exactly what it is. Oppressed beyond belief by the Empire on his homeworld of Kel-Dor, he leaves with the belief that there is something out there that will fulfill his destiny.

JA-JA BA, a Gungan from Naboo who has decided to follow his heroic forefathers in the battle with the Separatists leaves with only one thing on his mind. He must make his mark on the galaxy to atone for the sins of the Emperor who hails from his homeworld of Naboo.

In these troubled times the Force holds its bated breath as these unknowing heroes, fully unaware of their pivotal roles to be played in the coming galactic-wide events meet for the first time in Coronet City, Corellia, with the simple motive of profits...............


DAY 1: Potential Employer?
So Cun and Ja-Ja meet for the first time in the Golden Sands Cantina, along with a potential employer. Mira Lunas, a young fringer from the edge of the galaxy has offered them each 500 credits down-payment as well as a share in the loot from this job: a simple, little matter of hidden treasure from a long-forgotten band of pirates.

After narrowly averting a confrontation in the cantina with the hostile manager and his thuggish serving droids, the heroes agree to help Mira and she leaves. So Cun attempts to follow her to find out more but due to his lack of experience in city tracking he fails to tail her and she ducks out of sight. Ja-Ja and So Cun both leave and await the next day...


DAY 2: Jacen Joins the Party

In the starport of Coronet City, a young scoundrel searching for work runs into Kallamumarra, a tall, intimidating Wookie. Jacen Tainer agrees to help Kalla and his partner Mira in the same mission, except that he demands an extra 100 credits up front.

After meeting together in the starport, the expedition of 5 left on an airspeeder for coordinates recorded on an ancient datapad carried by Mira, apparently the coordinates to the Hawk-Bat Pirate Gang's old lair. Upon reaching the island indicated, they landed on the east beach and were then ordered by Mira to split up into two groups and search the island for clues. Due to the technical expertise of Kalla, a significant energy source was detected to the west after about an hour of searching and the two parties decided (via comlink) to head for the location of the source.

The two groups reunited at sundown and made camp somewhere in the middle of the island. Night watch times were arranged and sorted.


DAY THREE: Wookie Fall, Wookie go BOOM.

At last watch, just prior to dawn, So Cun had a very strong feeling of unease. Unable to pinpoint the source of his distress he woke Mira (and almost got his head blown off in the process) and warned her.

As she turned about with her blaster drawn a burst of blaster fire came from the north side of the camp! Luckily, neither Mira nor So Cun was hurt and they both dropped to the ground. Everyone was now wide awake and returned fire blindly into the trees.

The attack was soon determined to be from two groups of thugs who had been attempting to sneak up to the camp. Accurate fire from Mira dropped one thug while an unexpected attack from So Cun who had slipped off to the side stunned another.

At this point, Kalla decided to attempt to climb a tree and make surprise attacks from the treetops. Much to his distress, he was distracted from his attempt by all the blaster bolts raining down on him and ran head-first into the tree instead, stunning himself for about half a minute.

Just as it looked like the defenders were about to be overwhelmed, a heavy repeating blaster cannon used by one of the thugs misfired. The same thug tossed the cannon into the center of the camp and ran away full tilt.

Alerted and somewhat suspicious by this turn of events, Kalla (who at this time had recovered and was engaging a thug) took a look at the blaster cannon. Much to his horror he noticed that the cannon had locked itself into a flux-loop inducer and was about to catastrophically detonate (in other words, it's a low-yield nuke).

Kalla ran for his life, screaming at Mira and the others to do likewise. Taking heed of his warning, the party fled away as fast as they could, leaving the remaining 2 thugs (who didn't quite realize what was going on) in the area. So Cun attempted to give chase to the fleeing thug who had dropped the cannon but got distracted by the low-yield explosion going off behind him. The entire camp was vaporized with no traces of anything left when the party came back to inspect it.

Shaken, but thankful for being alive, the party then continued making their way into the forest. On the way, Jacen recalled that he had overheard a conversation between Kalla and Mira at one point regarding a Hutt. He questioned Mira and at this point she admitted that she needed part of the treasure to repay an old debt, and had foolishly mentioned it to Gorga the Hutt from Nar Shaddaa. She was convinced that the thugs were from him, as well as realizing that he would probably not accept repayment now.

The rest of the day was uneventful. Camped at nightfall.

DAY 4: What the hell is that??

After repacking and getting ready to leave the next morning, Kalla picked up a movement reading on his sensors. It was a humanoid moving towards the party from the east. Kalla could not pick up life signs and determined it was a droid. The party agreed to prepare an ambush in case it was hostile.

After 10 minutes, the figure appeared. It was not a droid, but rather, what looked like the thug who had escaped, but horribly mangled and moving in an erratic manner.

Jacen was shocked and fired on the zombie. Immediately it made for him and attacked. A short while into the fight, So Cun noticed a pulsing sac attached to the back of the thug's skull. He alerted the others and without hesitation Kalla sliced the thug's head off with his ryyk blade.

A spew of disgusting white worms poured forth from the dead man's body. After the flow had dried up, Kalla examined the worms and realized that they had died within moments of being exposed to the air. He decided to keep one for closer examination.

They arrived at the structure around midday. Sensors were consistently being disrupted now due to the immense concentration of the energy source in the area. The structure appears to be an old, abandoned hangar. The front door was inoperative and no entrance was immediately apparent. However, after a search a side door was located and Kalla managed to slice his way past it and the party entered the building.

The first room was what appeared to be an old droid recharging station. It was old and dusty and dank. Kalla sliced into an old terminal at the droid recharge point and managed to restore power to the building, causing all doors to be operative once more.

After scanning a downloaded map of the complex, the party decided to visit the armory first at Jacen's behest. Upon reaching it, however, they realized that it had been looted badly. So Cun managed to find a really old working blaster rifle and Mira found some old datapads, but in overall it was a wasted trip.

The next stop was the Command Center. In here, So Cun managed to access the security system and found that the base had been taken by Old Republic forces then abandoned at the start of the Clone Wars. Kalla located the Station Commander's old penthouse, and they left for it immediately.

The penthouse had to be accessed by other means, as the door had been locked very tightly and eventually Mira climbed onto the roof of the building and lowered herself onto the balcony. At this point, the party returned to wait for her to open the door from the inside.

After a long time, when there was no sign of activity from Mira, So Cun attempted to contact her via comlink and then discovered that all their frequencies were being jammed. Mira chose this moment to appear from the penthouse OPPOSITE from the one she had entered. "Come on, I've found something!"

The party trooped into that penthouse and to their surprise, there was a gaping hole in the wall where a wardrobe ought to be. "It's a secret passageway!" exclaimed Mira. "I couldn't access the door in the other penthouse and when I found that we were being jammed, I panicked and knocked over a vase. It fell on what appears to be a secret button and I found this. And that's not all I found!!"

She led the party down another tunnel and showed them an old keypad set in a wall behind a hidden panel.

"I brushed against this wall on my way past and look what I found!" she said.

Kalla quickly sliced his way in past the door and the party looked down a long, dark, and deep tunnel. The smell of seawater was in the air...

DAY 5: Of Bugs and Inquisitive Adventurers

"Sithspit!!! This isn't the fun I thought it would be!" was the main line of thought going through So Cun's mind as he nearly blundered through a tripwire set across the floor. He had nearly walked through it, and had an idea that whatever it did, it wouldn't be very healthy for him.

"What's the holdup?" asked Mira from just behind him. She pushed by and looked down at the floor. "Oh... well, just step over it then and keep moving!"

"Fine, fine," So Cun muttered and gingerly avoided the tripwire. Everyone else did likewise, and continued down the hallway.

Only to run smack up against a rockfall. Looking up, the party could just barely make out that there was a gap between the top of it and the ceiling. Kallam growled out a few words and Mira translated, “He says that he might be able to clear the way with a few good detonators. However, it looks like the whole area is already unstable and we might risk the roof caving in on us. Unfortunately we can’t try to do this from outside due to the energy field, the remote detonators won’t work beyond a certain distance. Ideas, anyone?”

Immediately a hectic discussion began with wild ideas like clearing the fall by hand ("Hey, it does look possible!") or just blowing it up ("What, and have the roof drop in on us??") and finally Ja Ja came up with the most logical idea of all.

"Why don't we just climb it?"

Everyone looked blankly at him. "Climb it," he repeated. "Like so!" and clambered up to the top and through the hole in a flash.



"Hey wait!" shouted Mira as she hurried over to the base.

"It's clear!!" yelled Ja Ja as he dropped down to the other side.

The rest of the party looked at each other and shrugged, and began climbing. It took awhile, as a couple of the less agile party members had to work their way carefully over but in the end, they made it safely. Another rocky corridor stretched out before them.

Further down, they arrived at a crossroads. Ja Ja poked his head down the right intersection and saw a wet cavern with a pool of water at its end. "Hey people, this a-way!" he said and moved in without waiting.

"Hey hang on! Shouldn't you at least check for... oh nevermind" grumbled Jacen as the rest of them followed Ja Ja into the cave.

A search turned up nothing of interest and Kalla and Mira strolled up to the pool's edge. Kalla tossed a stone in and watched it sink to the bottom. Mira commented, "Looks deep. Anyone up for a swim?"

Ja Ja and So Cun both looked at each other and back at Mira. She was eyeing them. "Yes, you two. That's why I brought you along. Get wet, NOW!"

Ja Ja jumped straight in but So Cun, being less comfortable with watery depths hesitated. "Let's let him check it out first..."

Soon enough Ja Ja swam back up lugging a small metal chest. He pushed it up and crawled out after it. Opening it, the party saw the glint of credit chips.

Jacen's eyes gleamed and he reached out for it only to have his hand slapped away by Kalla. "Not so fast!" Mira said, looking evil. "Remember our arrangement? Ten percent to you, and the rest to us,". They bickered and argued and generally spent about an hour sorting out the loot, but in the end the deal was honored (albeit with much grumbling and threats, none really loud, due to the Wookie who rips arms off).

Ja Ja then informed everyone that he had also found a small tunnel leading away to the south. Mira ordered him and So Cun to go check it out, and not very pleasantly. "You already have a breathing mask! Just go, already. What kinda scout ARE you??"

Finally they both jumped in.

After a long swim, they popped out of a small pool at a corner of a room. This room was open to the sky above, and they could see the clear, late afternoon sky. There was a double door in one corner, the pool in another, a pile of rubble in yet another and a durasteel panelled wall leading away next to the pool. As So Cun walked over to the door to examine it, Ja Ja poked about the rubble.

"Wonder if I can find anything... WHOA!" he yelled as 4 centipede-like insects burst forth, stinger tongues flickering and looking for a target.

A rather one-sided fight ensued with So Cun and Ja Ja blasting away uselessly at the insects which always seemed to be one step ahead of them. So Cun yelled, "RUN!!!" and ran straight for the pool, dodging stingers all the way. Ja Ja did likewise and finally the two of them came back up at the cavern, where everyone was sitting and waiting and generally looking bored.

"Well, what happened?" Mira asked.

Ja Ja and So Cun took a few moments to gather their wits and eventually the story spilled out. Mira looked rather pale and said, "Those sounded like Kouhun. You were very lucky you got out of there alive... Well, time to move on!"

So Cun and Ja Ja stared daggers at her back. Strangely, neither of them thought to ask for a pay raise.

Back in the corridor, they moved down to the opposite hall and halted. There was a door that matched the one So Cun had found.

"Err... do we really want to go that way?" asked Jacen. "Probably not," said Ja Ja with So Cun nodding eagerly in assent.

They moved back down the hall and Jacen went down the final path.

He came back moments later. "Cave in," he said, shaking his head. "Well, let's go home now," said So Cun and turned around, only to be stopped by a mountain of fur in his path.

"No," said Mira. "We haven't found the treasure yet. I'm not leaving without it."

Resigned, they trooped down the hallway.

Arriving at the door, So Cun moved forward and examined it. "It doesn't look like the same door. This one is locked," he said, and everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.

"It's a datapad lock... hey, I've seen that size before..." mused Mira and she began rummaging through her pack. "A-ha!! Found it!" she said, holding up the datapad she had found earlier in the armoury. Slotting it into the reader, it hummed and beeped, and the door slid open.

"Yes! Let's move on, everyone!" she cried and marched down the hallway. It was lit, and a similar door stood at the end. Everyone stopped at once.

"Err... you think that's it?" asked Jacen nervously.

"Maybe..." said So Cun, looking equally nervous.

"Well! We won't find out by standing here!" said Mira with false bravado. "Move it!"

Jacen scurried back to hide around the corner.

"I said move... damn it, I'll deal with you later," fumed Mira.

As the party reached the halfway point of the hall, a bright green light started flashing above them. Everyone paused and looked up, except for Kalla who noticed motion at the corner of his eye.

Two battle droids moved out of their hidden compartments and started to fire on them. After a short and intense firefight (and lots of Wookie roars and slashing), the 2 droids lay smoking on the floor. No one was hurt, fortunately, except for Kalla who had some fur singed off him.



"That was fun..." muttered Mira. She turned back to the door and leaned towards it, then looked back. Everyone was hanging behind.

"Oh come ON!" she yelled, exasperated. "I bet it's not even the same room!" and she opened the door, strode through, and came to an abrupt stop.

It was the same room.

Mira moved nervously backward, scanning for any signs of movement. There were none.

Everyone crept cautiously in.

"So... the nest is in there?" whispered Jacen.

"Yeah... right over there..." Ja Ja whispered back.

"Hey, chuck a frag in, that should take care of them!" said So Cun, sotto voce

"Okay!" whispered back Mira, and carefully extracted a grenade. Taking careful aim, she threw it into the rock pile.



The explosion was loud and a cloud of dust covered everyone. When the coughing had stopped, they looked at the remains of what used to be a small pile of rocks. It was now more like sand.

"Well, there used to be a datapad in here," said Mira, poking around the rubble with a stick. "And a nest, but nothing else.. wonder where they went?"

"Let's not look the gift-bantha in the mouth," said So Cun, glancing about. "I say we go, now."

Everyone agreed and they moved off down the hall next to the pool. It branched out into 3 paths. On one end, they found a pair of blast doors and another datapad reader lock, at another they found an open sea cave with a magnetic containment field preventing access to it, and at the final one, another unassuming door.

Seeing as everyone was tired and needed rest, the decision was made to slice open the blast doors, which would take about 2 hours, and everyone could rest then. After 2 hours, the door was sliced open but no one decided to open it for some reason, and went over to the normal door set on the northern branch of the passageway.

Ja Ja went first this time. Opening the door, he peered in.

"Well, what do you see?" asked Mira impatiently.

"Bad... baaaad..." said Ja Ja.

"Bad, what do you mean bad? How bad? What kinda bad?" asked Jacen from the rear of the group.

"I've got a baaaaaaaaad feeling about this..." said So Cun... drawing his blaster pistol.

"Bad mess!" shouted Ja Ja, leaping into the room. "Look at this!"

Everyone filed in and stared wordlessly at the mess in front of them. The room was covered in debris, mainly made up of broken chairs but a lot of rocks, junk, and other stuff as well. It was so messy that they couldn't even make out the floor for the rubbish. There was an old arena in the middle, a raised platform, and it was as messy as the rest of the room.



Ja Ja also pointed up. "Turrets," he said, indicating 2 at opposing corners of the room. "Inactive, luckily," he continued.

Everyone carefully picked their way about the room. The door they came through was at the southwestern corner and there was another door at the other corner. The turrets hung from the remaining 2.

So Cun moved over to the door and opened it. "It's a long hallway down and there's a room at the end!" he told the rest.

Meanwhile, Kalla was being extremely inquisitive about one of the turrets, wanting to see if he could rip it off and sell it or salvage it for parts. Ja Ja was standing underneath the other turret looking at it. As Kalla grasped the turret and started pulling it, they suddenly whirred to life and began opening fire immediately! Kalla was instantly hit and yowled in pain, and Ja Ja, being the nearest target to the other, managed to jump out of the way.

Jacen reacted instantly and smoothly, spinning around and blasting the turret near Kalla with his rifle. His one good (or maybe lucky?) shot penetrated the armor and blew out the Tibanna gas canister on the turret, destroying it instantly. He then immediately ran down the room and ducked into the corridor for cover.

Ja Ja meanwhile drew his DL-44 and shot at the turret above him. He hit it, but didn't manage to disable it. The turret fired back, this time scoring hits on Ja Ja who screamed with anguish and Jacen, seizing the advantage offered, peered round the corner and laced the remaining turret with accurate red bolts, blasting it to bits.

After the thunder of blaster fire the room seemed unnaturally quiet.

Medical treatment was immediately administered. Kalla wasn't able to concentrate fully due to the pain of his wound and couldn't heal himself, but fortuntely So Cun was on hand to patch him up. Kalla, now under the influence of painkillers, treated Ja Ja.

Mira suggested, "Well, since everyone is shook up, what say we rest here for tonight?" This was agreed to wholeheartedly by the rest, and they set up camp.


DAY 6: Halt, Rebel scum!!!

The next day dawned and everyone had recovered, with the exception of a few bald patches on Kalla. They moved down the next hall and found a turbolift and a maintenance access tunnel. Taking the turbolift, they moved down to the next level of the complex.

Coming out, they saw two identical doors ahead of them. After a discussion they moved to the northern one and opened it. Inside was an old ready room, with bits and pieces of old clothing and armor inside lockers and on the benches. After a search, So Cun and Kalla came up with enough bits to put together a combat jumpsuit, but didn't take the time to assemble it then.

Opening the other door in the room, they walked out only to be confronted with a catwalk structure and a yawning abyss beneath them.

"Whoa!!!" cried Mira. "She stumbled and grabbed hold of a support rail. "That was unexpected. Everyone be careful, don't look down!"

Needless to say, everyone looked down. Oh, the joys of vertigo.

After everyone had recovered their balance, they saw 2 doors on either side. Moving to 1, Ja Ja opened it and walked in without hesitation. Jacen slapped his forehead and mumbled to himself, "Gonna have to teach this guy a few things about TRAPS!"

It was a command center. Everyone filed in and started looking around. Apparently a memory wipe had taken place about 30 years ago and only a message remained on the screen. Mira read it and got really excited. "We have to find the Central Processing and Power Core, people!" she said. "The uhh... uhhh... TREASURE, or at least, things telling us about the treasure is there!"

Everyone except Kalla gave her a very sceptical look.

"Uhh... okay..." said So Cun.

Jacen's attention had been diverted, however, by two words. WEAPONS LOCKER cried the sign above a storage compartment on the wall. He rushed over and pulled out an old repeating blaster.

"Cool!" he cried, and immediately slung it over his shoulder. "I'm taking this, if no one wants it!" he said and walked out of the room. Everyone else just looked at each other, shrugged and followed him.

Making their way to the other door on the catwalk, they opened it and found a tall fusion reactor that started from the ceiling above their heads and reached down into the deeps. A terminal stood on a raised platform beyond the reactor. Mira and Kalla immediately ran over and started accessing the terminal.



"Let's see... yes... magcon field... okay, down... base... details... loc-... aha! Found it!" Mira crowed. Jacen, immensely curious and excited at the thought of treasure, attempted to look at what she was doing only to be stopped by a wall of Wookie.

"Hey! Let me see, did you find anything, what are you looking at??" he yelled.

"Never you mind! Let's go!" she shot back, yanking a datapad out of the slot in the terminal. "Kalla, wipe that machine, let's go!"

Kalla leaned over and tapped a few commands in, all the while restraining an insistent Jacen.

"Hey, let go... gerroff me you big hairy walking carpet!!!" he yelled. Kalla glared at him and growled and he instantly subsided. "Sorry..."

Meanwhile, Ja Ja and So Cun had been inspecting another catwalk and returned with the report, "Maintenance tunnel access. It's a ladder leading to a grate. Nothing that way," So Cun said.

"Well, back to the turbolift room then, said Mira.

They marched back and arrived at the other unopened door. Mira listened at it for awhile and said, "Nope, nothing there." and opened it.

An old, musty, but luxuriously decorated apartment was behind the door. Everyone spread out and started searching without saying anything. However, only a handful of credits was found and Kalla pocketed that. Ja Ja opened the other door in the room.

They had arrived at a warehouse that stretched from end to end. Mountains of crates were here, and Jacen got really excited and pushed his way in.

"Oh boy, oh boy oh boy!!! Treasure!!" he exclaimed, and opened the nearest crate.

It was empty.

"What the-... oh well, next!" he cried and opened another.

It was also empty.

"The hell???" he cried, and shoved a stackful.

They all fell down and burst open, empty, except for one, and a mountain of credits spilled out.

"All right! This is more like it... but what the hell is this? A treasure hunt? I mean... it is, of course, but... ahh! You know what I mean!" he exclaimed.

"There must be a terminal here that keeps track of this.... oh, there it is!" said Mira.

Kalla immediately went to work and sliced his way past the protective protocols. Inside, he identified the few crates that did have credits in them and dispatched the party to each one.

As So Cun got his crate, an irresistable desire to open it and run his hands through the loot came over him. Why not? After all, it was his, by right, he told himself. I helped, part of it is mine.

And so he did. As he was pawing his way through his hands suddenly encountered a long, thing, cylindrical object. Picking it up, he looked at it. "Looks like a piece of art..." and indeed, it did look like a sculpture. Intricate designs and carvings were notched onto it. "Better keep it, looks important," he thought to himself and slid it into his utility belt pouch. Strangely, the desire to look through the credits disappeared at this point and he forgot completely why he even opened the crate in the first place.

After the division of the loot, each of the hirelings got 10%, or 5000 credits each and the remaining 35,000 went to Kalla and Mira. Feeling really pleased with themselves, they returned to the turbolift room and Mira suggested, "Let's have a look at that ladder. What if we miss more?"

Agreeing, the party turned around and headed back to the central core. As they were on the catwalks and about to open the door, however, a yell from behind startled them.

"Halt, Rebel scum!!!"



They turned around and saw an Imperial officer and a whole squad of stormtroopers pour out of the command center behind them. "I am Captain Kao of the Imperial Security Bureau! Drop your weapons now or we WILL open fire!" yelled the officer.

Although So Cun and Jacen were all for doing as they were told, Mira, Kalla, Ja Ja and Jacen instantly went for their guns and the area erupted with blaster fire.

A blaster cannon bolt blew rock chips around them and Mira yelled, "We can't win this, everyone run!"

They retreated into the door behind them, firing as they retreated. Accurate fire from the party lanced through one stormtrooper, causing him to lose his balance and fall over into the abyss, screaming.

Mira was last through the door and threw another grenade into the mass of white. It exploded, raining fragments everywhere and she ducked through the door and closed it.

"To the ladder, quickly!" cried So Cun and Kalla led the way.

As they were about to move, however, a yell came through the door.

"Stop where you are, scum! There is no escape! Surrender now or we WILL kill you all!" shouted Kao.

Kalla meanwhile had reached the grate. He attempted to open it, but much to his frustration, it was locked tightly and not even Wookie strength could force it.

Mira hissed to Jacen, "Quick, stall them!"

Jacen gave her an injured 'Who, me?' look and started screaming, taking everyone aback.

"ARRRGGHHHH!!! POISON... GAS... *HACK* *COUGH*!!"

Kao smiled grimly to himself on the other side. He had scouted the area and knew that it was an open area behind the door with no potential for trapping gas. "You expect us to believe that, Rebel scum?? Open up NOW or we will blow it down!" he yelled back.

Jacen paused, and looked to Mira. "Delay them!!!" she said again.

"Okay, okay!" yelled Jacen. "We're coming out, just don't shoot, please!"

As this was happening, So Cun suddenly felt a compulsion to go and help Kalla, though he couldn't see how he could do anything. He ran over to the grate, and told Kalla, "Get out of the way!"

Feeling as though it wasn't really him who was doing it, he drew out the long cylinder he had found earlier and held it in front of him. With a snap-hiss a humming green blade shot out from the tip. It was a lightsaber! So Cun had never expected to see one in his lifetime, and here he was, holding it! Still feeling like he was in a dream, he thrust the lightsaber into the grate and cut it open, and it fell with a clang to the catwalk. Kalla yowled with triumph and ran back to call everyone. As the rest of the party rushed to the exit, he began setting a thermite detonator and explosives on the catwalk main support beam. So Cun by now had returned to his senses and the lightsaber had shut off by itself.

Everyone climbed up, with Kalla being the last. By now, Kao had grown tired of waiting and had ordered the stormtroopers through the door. As they charged in ahead of him, he heard a yell coming through the door, "Blow it now!!! Blow it!!!" Reacting without thinking, he turned around and ran towards the door of the ready room, just in time. With a loud roar the explosives detonated and the catwalk plummeted to the depths, along with 7 stormtroopers. Kao had just only made it to safety. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he checked his datapad and smiled grimly. Rushing back to the turbolift, he hopped in and immediately headed upwards.

Meanwhile, the party had arrived back at the top level and were running quickly through into the messy arena room. Just as they arrived in this room Kao hurtled out of the turbolift and down the corridor and skidded to a halt in the doorway. "Hold it right there, Rebels!!!"

While most of the party had made their way around the room, Jacen was still attempting to move carefully through the mess, and Kao could see him. Opening fire, Kao caught Jacen with two well-placed shots and Jacen fell to the ground, knocked out by the pain. The rest of the party opened fire on Kao but were unable to hit him, as he had anticipated their attack and dropped behind the raised arena platform, behind cover.

At this, Kalla ran across the room and attempted to use his superior strength to pin Kao to the floor. Kao snapped off a shot and missed, and dropped his blaster pistol in an attempt to hold off the rampaging Wookie. So Cun and Mira made their way around the room, firing as they came, but missing due to their attempt to avoid hitting Kalla as well. Ja Ja ran across the other side, only to catch his foot on the corner of a broken chair and went sprawling across the floor.

Kao had managed to wiggle out of Kalla's grasp and was busy punching and kicking the Wook, achieving nothing but making Kalla extremely angry. He entered an awesome Wookie Rage and in this time grabbed a hold of Kao and lifted him bodily over the floor. By this time, Ja Ja had arrived along with So Cun and Mira. Ja Ja struck Kao with his vibroblade and opened a deep gash in Kao's side.



At this, Kao screamed, "Enough! I give up! Please, don't kill me!!!" and ceased struggling.

Jacen woke up to a strange sight. There was a Wookie sitting on an Imperial captain and three other semi-familiar people arguing about what to do with the captain.

"I say we kill him, he knows too much!" said Mira.

"No, we can't kill someone helpless like that!" argued So Cun.

"Yeah, it goes against a soldier's honor to do it!" agreed Ja Ja.

"Can I eat him please? Fresh meat!!!" growled Kalla, although only Jacen and Mira understood him.

Jacen shook his head... "I must be dreaming..."

In the end, Mira decided to settle things for herself and pointed her blaster at Kao's head. At this, Kao pleaded, "No, please... please... don't kill me..."

Mira hesitated, as she was not a murderer by nature and in this moment of hesitation So Cun and Ja Ja knocked the blaster away.

"We will NOT be party to murder!!!" yelled So Cun.

"Let's just tie him up!!!" said Ja Ja.

Finally, they agreed. Stripping him of all his posessions including his ID, uniform, armor, weapons and money, they left him trussed up in a length of synthrope. Hurrying out, they made their way to the sea cave opposite the room. An airspeeder was waiting there, inactive. Mira got in and used the code cylinder that they had found on Captain Lorren Kao of the ISB (according to his ID) and it purred to life.

So Cun was standing in front of the blast doors that Kalla had hacked open yesterday. "Wonder what's inside..." he thought and opened it. Immediately a turret began shooting at him, fortunately it missed. So Cun darted aside and closed the doors. "That was a close call... this is the last time I'm ever opening a door!" he muttered to himself. The party got into the airspeeder and they shot out into the open sea.
