I prefer macross too. I think i am more of a macross fan than a robotech's. I didn't really dig or remember anything about Robotech:Southern Cross but i do fancy Mospeada(Robotech:The new generation). The cyclone designs in it just blew me away! New Robotech series are coming, and it would pick up from the last eps (eps 85) of the old robotech saga. It's called Robotech:the shadow chronicles. It seems like shadow (alpha) fighters and cyclones would be making a comeback. Can't wait. Hope there would be new perfect-transformation toys comin with it to. After seeing Toynami's masterpiece alpha fighters, i do think that they are wicked, if only Toynami's QC improves. a mini-trailer can be found here: preludeto.theshadowchronicles.com/

To me, SC was ... well, something like the bridging gap between 1st generation and Sentinels... But storyline wise, it expanded a lot and made things look really bleak especially towards the end when you tot "ok, done with the Robotech Masters..." and then you get told abt Invid!!!
Yeah, read over at Robotech.com's website abt the Shadow Chronicles... finally and hopefully, i have my closure!!! Reading the "Symphony of Light" really potong stim at the end, finding out that the SDF-4 never came back!!! *sigh*
The new alpha fighters look cool too... like i said, very tempted to get me a piece! ;D

yeah. I couldn't remember a single thing about Southern Cross but Robotech: Macross saga and the new generations were different. The only think i thought kool about Southern Cross was that the main heroin (can't remember her name) was the daughter of Max and Miria. I watched Mospeada and read robotech timeline in www.robotech.com ages ago in order to understand the continuity of all the three series. It's pretty neat how the Americans are able to knit all three into one so well. And yeah, when i found out that Admiral Rick Hunter was leading the expeditionary and when Sue Graham told about Hunter's expeditionary force was coming in the new generations, i went nuts. Now finally the chance to see how ADmiral Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes and Minn May turned out after the old series. ;D

Their daughter's name is Dana Sterling together with Dante Grant (general grant's son) i think... and then you have Zor Prime, the spy for the Robotech Masters...
For me, i started of from reading the books 1st, Jack McKinney's series... Then only later, the cartoon's came out. Lucky me!!!
Yeah, me too can't wait... like i said, potong stim when the ending was hanging like that... that i never really found out what happened to SDF4 and it's crew... If i'm not mistaken the Hunter's have a child right?

Any idea when would the Shadow Chronicle anime be coming out ? I hope they can finish the Sentinel series once HG is done with the Shadow Chronicle.

I did spot an ad for a Prelude to Shadow Chronicles comic mini-series, 5 issues by Wildstorms starting in October. I haven't spotted them at local comic shop yet but didn't specifically look for them. Involves the Waltrips brothers who did excellent work on the old Robotech Sentinels comics series many years ago. Looking out for it, hopefully get back issue 1 and issue 3 should be out anytime.

I am aiming to collect all the 1/48 robotech/macross saga main cast valkyries. So far i have been able to get 1/48 hikaru with GBP(also a 1/48), deluxe Max (it means super VF-1J Max), and Roy. I am still looking for reasonably priced 1/48 Cannon Fodder and deluxe Miria.
Also got myself VF-1S Hikaru since i am thinking of getting all the VF-1S from the Macross Movie (DYRL). Some of the stuffs mentioned are still in Japan with my brader.
Did you know S variant valkyrie is reserved for commander of the fleet and i think they are only like 12 of them in the Macross saga timeline? Roy used S-variant and he is the leader of skull squadron as well as the commander of SDF-1 valkyrie fleet.
Other odd stuffs i am planning to get are 1/48 low vis version 2, stealth with fastpacks and VF-0S.
Other odd stuffs i have are broken banpresto CF, 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru, 1/60 VF-1J Hikaru with GBP, 1/60 Elint Seeker, 1/74 YF-21 with fast packs, yamato stand, and 1/100 Monster Koenig.
Cant wait to return to Malaysia to play with them.

Too many Macross products out there compared to less for Mospeada (New Generation) and virtually zero for Southern Cross (just as well, no real cool mecha). Anyway, more recently got some Masterpiece Collections by Toynami being officially Robotech products instead of Macross/Mospeada. Got a VF-1J blue (Max Sterling) and Alpha Fighter green (Lancer). ;)Looking for the VF-1J blue armour which is apparently difficult to find, and awaiting the Beta Fighter green which still has no release dates yet... BTW, the Prelude to Shadow Chronicles comics were pretty good. Get them if you can!

Awesome haul!!! I have always wanted to get one of the alpha fighters by toynami. I read that the QC problems that plagued the MPC VF-1 series are somewhat improved by leaps and bounds. I didnt know that you're into Lancer's character/mech. I couldnt justify myself to start collecting the comics since i concentrate on too many toylines. Here's still hoping for cyclones to be produced under toynami or yamato..
