Greetings and salutations to the citizens of Malaysia's prominent Science-Fiction and Fantasy community! I'm a big fan of Samurai X. If anyone here is also a Samurai X fan or if he or she would like to comment about it... Please feel free to post here... All are welcome.

Compared to other anime, I'm not that big a fan of Samurai X but I enjoy reading the manga. I've only read the Malay version though, Satria Pedang, and watched a few episodes on VCD which is in Japanese with English subtitles.
Favourite character: Hajime Saito and his Gatotsu Favourite battle: VS. Shishio Makoto

Well... My fave character has got to be... um... Misao. I loved those cool katana moves that Kenshin does. The Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. My fave battle is also the Shishio Mokoto battle.

I read RK mainly due to the fact that i'm a history nutcase! well, i love history, kinda like a storybook to me... and also due to Watsuki's beautiful and elaborate drawings! Uptill, now, i have yet to find a manga artists that literally pepper's his drawings with intricate details!!! It's truly an amazement to me to see such intricate and small drawings... On the character side, i guess it would be Myojin Yahiko... guess he's got lots of depth: In that a young boy, who knows nothing ends up learning the most of all characters and grows the most as well, again from knowing nothing to learning Kamaya Kasyin Ryu and eventually learn a few moves from RK and also later on, inherits RK's Sakabato... Fan? Am currently collecting all of Viz's publication of the english version (now @ Bk 22) and have all of Yamato's 3 RK sets... and oh yeah, also Viz's RK's Profile book...

There's a sort of antiques and collectibles fair at the Store, Jln Kampar, Ipoh. Saw a 12th century samurai sword for RM150. It's part of a collection, made of stainless steel and black wood. Very beautiful. I wanted to buy it but my dad won't allow. It would make a great prop for costuming or for display.. Just mentioning in case there's anyone here looking for one.

vkkf, Yeah, you're right about the detail. Most of the mangas I read usually don't have much detail in the regular panels. It's usually just the outline drawn. There's one other manga, Pakar Judo (BM version) which was drawn in the 1980s if I'm not mistaken. For a manga from that era, it's quality is better than most. Neat lines. Details drawn in too. One manga I'm reading now, Fruits Basket, has a lot of detail especially the characters' hair. I think it's more shojo. Reading chapter 10 now and no battle scenes so far, but no romance either. The storyline is about the a family cursed with the forms of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. I'll put it under the same grouping for genre as Chobits. By the way, there was one boxed set VCD of Samurai X which I watched where the style of drawing was different. These were the earlier parts of his life. No scar.

How big is the sword if you don't mind me asking?

Eh, neat collection. I spot Saito in front of Vol16-17. How many chracters are there in the complete collection for the figurines? I like how the cloth creases and flows on their clothes, especially the character in wihte coat in front of Vol 1-3. Do you wrap the books in plastic covers? Looks glossy.. (Or am I the only person who does that to all my books and comics? )
