The Official News concerning the Exhibition.
STAR SCIENCE Ong Sor Fern (Film Correspondent) Star Wars fans can soon get up close and personal to Darth Vader's original costume. The Singapore Science Centre is bringing in The Art Of Star Wars exhibition later this year. Schedule to run from Nov 19 to April 3 next year at the Science Centre, the exhibition boasts 250 props and artefacts from creator George Lucas's blockbuster movie series. Singapore will be the first Asian country outside Japan to host the exhibition, which will cost an estimated $1.8 million. About 60 percent of the show will be dedicated to never-before-seen artefacts from Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith. These include storyboards, models and posters. The displays will take up 2,000 sq m. The Centre is converting another 1,000sq m into a theatrette which will screen making-of documentaries. This is the second big movie-related blockbuster the Science Centre is hosting. The Lord Of The Rings (LOTR) Exhibition, held from March to June last year, was a big hit with visitors, says the Science Centre’s chief executive, Dr Chew Tuan Chiong. It attracted about 120,000 visitors. “ The LOTR exhibition demonstrated to us that we could reach out to a wider audience, such as young adults who normally do not frequent the Science Centre,” he adds. As a result, the Centre will be looking for more such exhibitions with crossover appeal. Dr Chew says, “ We are quite progressive in embracing blockbusters with wide appeal, especially when a lot of interesting science is still embedded in the exhibition.”

i think the US had that in Washington State for a while. Nope. That one is different as this one coming to Singapore will be like Magic of Myth & Art of SW thrown together with 60% of its items from ROTS. We are getting the similar one to the one that was and still in Japan. The original The Art of SW Exhibition that was in USA only covers OT & TPM if I remember correctly.

Hey there Haldir, thanks for finally posting this MAIN STAR WARS event up in MySciFiFan Forums.
I have been in discussions for quite sometime about this with fishyahoo, Plo Strax-Avix and the rest of the key CONTINGENT members, where we are planning to TROOP down to Singapore possibly in December later, that should be a good time right? We will be co-ordinating with the ASCO folks over at Annwyn too.
In view this is going to be an EXCITING MySciFiFan excursion, I'm now moving this thread over to the Events Section of the forums for further discussions, if you don't mind.

Excellent! ;D A Christmas gift perhaps... to all us Contingent folk who worked so hard for the SW events this year! Visit the exhibit in costume?? That is an EXCELLENT idea my new apprentice. I hope that they allow the CONTINGENT into premises dressed in our character as it will really be a SHAME if they don't!
Also let me find out from Reno IF his Movie Mania and Singapore 501st Outpost are doing ANY STAR WARS Costumed gigs at this time of the year, then pitch to him to INCLUDE the CONTINGENT. Hope that this will come to pass! ;D
P.S. planning to appear as the "burnt" Anakin for this event?
