Hi, do you mean you'll be driving all the way into Singapore (for Peninsula Malaysia costumers)? I read/heard some time back that S'pore is relaxing its SGD30.00 driving charge(for M'sian cars), I think it's like free for certain days in a year or so....(per car/driver...not remember very clearly)...
Yes, correct driving into Singapore. The SGD30 Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) does not apply on weekends and after 7pm weekdays. There was also a promotional period when it doesn't apply after 12pm but I think period is over. Each Malaysian car also gets 10 free entry days per calender year. So thinking unless anyone here driving is regularly entering Singapore, the trip should be FREE of any VEP charges. Tolls and such also don't apply on weekends. If the group is large, suggest using MPV seating up to 6 people with ample space for luggage.

If you know of whether there are ANY Singapore STAR WARS costumed groups in your forums planning ANYTHING BIG in conjunction with this Exhibition, please let us know here. Will keep you all update on this from the "Inside" We actually are planning to have at least 1 Costumes Contest again after the success of the Cosplay one last Dec BUT like I said to my contact, there is the problem of if it's "SW Only", the ones entering the contest will be the same old people from FanForce Singapore, Movie Mania and 501st since we seems to be the ones actively into SW Costumings and not shy to wear our costumes to almost anywhere. Even if we make it "Sci-Fic & Fantasy" Event with the contest open only to SW Costumes, the same problem will arise since the same is happening with the Sci-Fic & Fantasy Costuming Community here. Try to rope them in but they choose not to participate cause shy etc etc or think these events are too childish or can't be contacted. The LOTR Exhibition is a very good example of this situation. Well-advertising will be a good solution to this BUT we will need help from all arena and all groups. We of course need a little help from the source too and give them a nudge here and there so be more productive. We will see how the next couple of months so stay tune! ;D

Fishyahoo, ya it's the promotional period I was referring to and the VEP! hehe... thanks. General thought: All costumers traveling to S'pore just quick check your passports are at least 6 months valid(unless got special rules I'm not so aware, just pla safe)! hehe...yeah, MPV definately more suitable (except maybe Avanza could be a bit tight and tiring on long journey...no offense!). Eg. Old/new serena, Innova, stream/Wish, Naza Ria etc.

Second question: Does the costume contingent appearing at events have strict rules on screen-accurate costumes? Or can a costumer with say 80% accuracy join as well (thinking about my future costume...ehehe) as long as it "looks" familiar/recognisable/accurate enough to the general public(not to costumers of course!)? Thanks & sounds like fun! Hope all goes well! My PLEASURE to answer your 2nd question o' enthusiatic one. The MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent emphasises on QUALITY and PRESENTABLE looking STAR WARS Costumes, as you have seen for yourself on many of the photos that were posted in the forums in the Events and STAR WARS Props & Costumes Section.
Say IF your costume is 80% movie accurate, so long it is PASSABLE and RECOGNISABLE to the General Public of the STAR WARS Character you are potraying, then you PASS with Flying Colors! ;D However, we do have ONE RULE here, we have the COSTUME group and the SUPPORT group. For Forum Members who has JOINED the Contingent in ALL its appearances as THEMSELVES, they were part of our essential Support & Logistics Group who helped us a great deal, vkkf1977 is the BEST EXAMPLE I can give you. IF you still have NOT got your costume together by the time of the trip, the Contingent ALWAYS WELCOME MySciFiFan members who MAKE the EFFORT to come as part of the Support Group. ;D

Many, many thanks for the warm welcome here, Sith Overlord , and for your kind words regarding www.starwars.sg . Yes, it's Daniel here. It's great to know that you were one of the Red Royal Guards at the Gala Charity Premiere of EPIII in Singapore. From the crowd's standpoint, the Red Royal Guards were really stunning ! Good job there ! *Bows in humble acknowledgement* Daniel, were in STAR WARS Costume yourself for this GREAT EVENT? If you are, please share a pic of yourself here. Glad that you have enjoyed the procession of the 4 Emperor's Royal Guard. My appreciatin goes back to Reno's invitation. ;D Yes, when you have something confirmed or in the works that will be a BOON to STAR WARS Fans, please post your updates here right after you have done so at www.starwars.sg Dan I sincerely believe that your KIND words have touched many of the MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent members who has READ your post. We will most certainly be HONORED to give you the pleasure of an interview and let you take as many photos of us, especially one particular Jedi peac0ck . It will give me the EXTRA impetus to complete my upcoming (hopefully movie accurate) STAR WARS Costume and wear it exclusively for this trip. Furthermore, this INCENTIVE will attract as many CONTINGENT members to make this trip, once all the essential arrangements that vkff1977, fishyahoo, Plo Strax-Avix, Dark_Ani and clonetrooper have raised.

Okay, before I start vomitting out more infos, to confirm previous enquires about Costumes/Armor Policy: [glow=red,2,300]All visitors, as long as they pay the entrance fees are ALLOWED to come to the Exhibition in ANY Star Wars Costumes/Armor.[/glow] BUT from past experiences, we will appreciate it if you behave yourselves during your visits ( aka no running around, or doing duel IN the exhibition hall etc etc let other visitors fire your bow....wait, that's for LOTR) and obey all Exhibition rules especially the No Photography, Video Recording and Handphone Recording Policy. You are also responsible for your properties and we would not be held responsible if you loose your Lightsabre Hilt, Armor Parts etc etc tho' we'll try our best to help you look for it should it be accidentally be left in the exhibition hall. Will post more infos later after I go through them and polish up some of them to be more clearer.

HUZZAH! Yippee!! ;D That's excellent. They even seem happy about it! Very well. Duels/wars/acrobatics etc will commence outside the exhibition hall. Raaaaaawwwwrrrr..... Just one thing the contingent should know: whether myself, Rhyden and the good Senator will be able to join the contingent for this 'Away Mission' depends on whether we have any engagements for Narnia coinciding with the trip or not. So far the Narnia schedule is undetermined, but hopefully it will not be as unfortunate as to clash times with this... *fans out feathers and preens* Aren't I a handsome Jedi? ;D

Raaaaaawwwwrrrr..... ..and NOT forgetting to mention hurling ignited Red Blade Lightsabers/Senate Hall furnitures at Jedi opponents, Force Choke and Shooting SITH Lightning immediately AFTER we EMERGE from the exhibition hall. I'm sure by the that time we will be immensely INSPIRED by what we have seen on display. ;D Yep, Rhyden has informed me of the close proximity of the dates with the Chronicles of Narnia evet, inwhich you 3 Hardcore STAR WARS Costumers are deeply rooted on. No problem, I'll continue to liaise with Rhyden so that a DATE can be set that EVERYONE from the CONTINGENT can go TOGETHER 'coz UNITY is STRENGHT among MySciFiFan and ASCO costumers.Leng looi lah oops leng chai lah! Now go and EXECUTE ORDER 66 and wipe out those Jedi scums OUTSIDE the exhibition area, Lord Vader!

So true... some of us will just be unable to contain ourselves. Multiple hours of self-control within the exhibition hall is sure to release the rampaging Sith Lord in everyone once the barrier is lifted. Thank you for your gracious consideration, Master. We are most thankful! Lord Vader will dutifully carry out the said order when necessary. ;D
