Attention MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent costumers and Support Team members :
There will be a proposed dinner gathering HOSTED by the CO and perspective members of the 501st Legion Malaysian Outpost for our guest ,Kai Brodkin from Finland, who is an active member of the :
501st Nordic Garrison
Date : SUNDAY, 12 February 2006
Venue : Meet up Kai at his Hotel first which is HILTON KUALA LUMPUR near KL Sentral
Meet up time : 1800
As this will be a MINI DINNER GATHERING which I have spoken to a number of MySciFiFan members off-line in the past 7 to 14 days, will appreciate it that you guys indicate in your post reply to this thread :
1) Who can make it for this DINNER gathering where MySciFiFan will have the honor of PLAYING a gracious MALAYSIAN Host to our Visitor from Finland.
2) Propose a Restraurant that serves local MALAYSIAN cuisine at the nearby vicinity to KL Sentral station, to cut down travelling time and maximize interaction time.

Hmm sounds interesting. But where can I park? As far as I know, Hilton parking is insane and so is KL sentral (I'll keep it as a backup) and also the Hilton, they check for bombs and stuff.. makes me feel weird if I go in there with MY car..

Take Putra LRT to KL Sentral; can park at Taman Jaya or Kelana Jaya.

*Ahem* have to put the SPOTLIGHT on this forthcoming event since this EVENT will be the one slated for FEBRUARY 2006.
OK Altie can I put you in as coming? fishyahoo how about you?
Kalkamel are you online now? perhaps you can post your affirmative to this dinner gathering and I hope that both you and Hanim (potential members of the 501st MALAYSIA / BRUNEI Outpost) can make it. ;D
The input that I need from you guys is a SUITABLE NEARBY RESTRAURANT in KL that serves tasty, scrumptious and delicious local Malaysian fare. So let's hear it from you guys!

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Hanim and I should be able to make the dinner. Suggest we comb Midvalley or Jalan Telawi to find a suitable place for dinner.

I would love to attend, as always, but can't due to lack of school holidays during that time. However I do have a suggestion for the dinner venue. If its true Malaysia fare you want, then the open air stalls near Jalan Telawi would be perfect. It has variety to suite every taste, fantastic value-for-money, character, and great atmosphere. What else can you ask for?
Well except to ask that it don't rain that evening
And if you guys want something more upmarket there's a great restaurant right next to the open air stalls, the one next to the police beat base...forgot the name though...used to have many a company dinner there...

THANK you so much for your ALL your valuable info, Pol. Looks like you have menjamu selera quite a bit at these places during your sojourn in Peninsular Malaysai BEFORE moving back to Kota Kinabalu. ;D

Just something extra to add on to this thread. In his e-mail to me, Kai, TS 0842 has specifically requested that he will like to meet with perspective members of the 501st MALAYSIA / BRUNEI Outpost, so a call out goes for the potential members who happen to be MySciFiFan forum members :
VaderArjay = Darth Vader
Dplik = Stormtrooper , hopefully you can make it.
Chakotay = Darth Maul
Kalkamel & Hanim = potential Darth Vader and ERG, glad that you guys have responded favourably
Arek (Stormtrooper) and Plo Strax-Avix (TIE Pilot) if you gentlemen happen to be physically in PENINSULAR MALAYSIA on this date.
Also restricted invitation to Dark_Ani (Anakin Skywalker who has turned to the Dark Side of the Force / Burnt Mustafar Anakin) and Rhyden (Imperial Officer?) and to fishyahoo, your posted response is much appreciated.
