dear fellow sci fi fans, i understand this is not exactly the place to post this event but it's the only malaysia club that more or less involve Lego toys. I'm representating Lego in Malaysia and in August 2005, we'll be having this huge event in Ikano, some pictures can be seen here - montreal.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=qc_lego20040816Ikano does not have a space big enough, we can't go on to beat the Guinness World Record. However, we'll definitely be looking at the Malaysia Book of Records. As such, I would like to invite all you guys to be volunteers for this 2 weeks event starting Aug 16th up to 30th. Do feel free to contact me at paultan@texchemconsumers.com for further details for those who are interested. Thanks.

Any Lego enthusiasts interested to make Sci-Fi & Fantasy themed Lego Milipede sections please PM or e-mail me for more info. For instance, your custom-made Milipede section would sport an Imperial Star Destroyer, the starship Enterprise, the One Ring, etc.

Some more info: 1. Building the Milipede on-site at Ikano shopping centre will take place from 16-30 Aug in attempt to reach the target length of 2005ft or more. 2. The Milipede comprises of solid segments and tail chains. The solid segments will be used indoors only and tail chains outdoors. 3. Each solid segment will take about an hour to put together, so set aside your time carefully. No good to be there for only 20 min then chuck the unfinished piece to someone else. But allow more time when building it first time because of mistakes. Target is to complete all the segments within the first week as most of the Milipede's length will be the tail chains. 4. You can customise the solid segments with different colours although shape must remain the same. For instance, you can make words using different colours on the surface of the segment, so you guys might want to make enough segments to spell M-Y-S-C-I-F-I-F-A-N and put together in a row. 5. On-site building can take place whenever the shopping centre is open, probably 10am to 10pm. 6. Donate RM20 to charity to get Lego event t-shirt. 7. There are 3 million brick, so don't worry about running out! However, there are all the same type 2x4 sized but in many different colours.
