Is that a Hasbro saber? Well, I guess screen accuracy wouldn't be an issue for the contestants, then!

Ran into him during the launch yesterday but didn't realise who he was until after event... he looked kinda familar but dressed differently (without sunglasses?)... Maybe I'll lend him an FX on Sat in exchange for autograph session at Outpost....

Maybe I'll lend him an FX on Sat in exchange for autograph session at Outpost.... Apparently this CosCom2007 judge ,
Vick Teo, the second runner-up of Malaysian Idol 2006, was also at the event, dressed up as a Star Wars Jedi Master, complete with a lightsabre...
didn't find his way to the STAR WARS 30th Anniversary Party at the Outpost!

SITH_OverLORD, If you're wondering why I've been taking my time in commenting on the 30th Anniversary Celebrations, it's just because I am GREEN with ENVY and FRUSTRATION from looking at the photos! I SO wish I could have joined the trooping there, for it was a historic one for the 501st! (although some people could not seem to appreciate the time and effort it took to get this under way...)
We may not be able to match the other 501st units in number, but we equal them in passion and spirit, of this I am sure! After reading some rather unconvincing comments by "fans" about the Movie Carnival's appearance of the 501st, I just wish that the person(s) would come up with a decent Imperial costume and join us in trooping!
Seriously speaking, this is one aspect of Malaysians which I find disturbing. Standing behind the lines, throwing stones and then hiding their hands... I'm sorry if my remarks intimidate or even hurt somebody's feelings, but we need to be more constructive, people! I am speaking on behalf of myself, as a costume designer and costumer who has been doing it for more than a decade...
I would really respect these critics for their remarks and comments, but only if they themselves can come up with a costume that would make me go "Ahh" and "Ooooh" and "God! That's AWESOME!"... To those who have decided to take the plunge, I SALUTE YOU! ;D

Redroyalguard, I haven't personally read the comments you mentioned. Were they posted somewhere in this forum, or elsewhere?
And you're right, there're a lot of people who are quick to offer their $0.02, without knowing/researching all he facts. Sadly this is not just a Malaysian problem, but a worldwide one.
This kind of things happen to me all the time. You (and most people in this forum) know about my Star Wars props collection, and what they are made up of. But those who don't, and who thought they knew better from whatever little info they get here and there, will always challenge me and claim they know more about how Star Wars props were made. I usually just smile and walk away, because its just a hobby after all, and its not worth getting all upset about it.
When you know better, you need not defend yourself.
