i dunno 'bout you guys but i found the 3 hours to be a tad too long. just found it very draggy at certain point in times and felt that PJ could have done with some better editing in especially the 1st 2 parts of the show... and especially the dino parts... i was actually thinking, how long MORE of this have i got ta SEE??? okkkkkkkkkkk, i get it! lots of dino's!!!

Sequels? No no no... imagine how THAT would drag out the story!
I wonder if there's an extended edition for Kong too... more dinos, more bugsies, more staring into Kong's/Ann's eyes... ;D

Personally, I think the current version should be the DVD EE AFTER they cleaned up the CGI blotches. It is a work of love no doubt but certain areas looks like a rush job more than anything else... Hack say 15mins of the first part and 15mins of the Skull Island bit and it would be just perfect. That said, because the movie is so technically beautiful, you don't really mind the 3+ hours when you are actually watching. When you walk out of the theatre to the creaking noises of your protesting knees, maybe then you would go... geeze, maybe it has a bit too much of this here and that there. But I think generally, you feel you got your money's worth and more. As flicks goes this year, it easily ranks in the top three, IMHO. Hmmm... with PJ, you can almost sense there will be an EE kicking around somewhere. I just wonder where on earth will he pad next? I think I have quite enough of the natives glaring at me with their red rimmed eyes and prancing around in religious ecstasy. THAT was a little disquieting for me. Kong doesn't really merit a sequel. The storyline is pretty campy and dated by this age and time and we have seen how modernised version of this story mostly failed. So, nah... no sequels. I am just happy with the original and PJ's version for now. ;D

Survived third viewing of King Kong. Call me gila beruk, still i find it a marvelous movie. I agree with Rhyden, it is technically beautiful & Premiere class makes it perfect. PJ use every shot for a reason, even some looks longer than usual but it helps strenghten the story. Example: Remember when Ann crying while doing a scene on the ship & suddenly she look peaceful upon seeing Jack Driscol's face? (some think this scene is pointless) BUT u will see the impact later when Ann cried after Kong being put to sleep by Carl Denham, she turn to Jack & again we see the beauty. I'm not a Jurassic Park fan & I wont compare it with other film but PJ have set a trademark of his own (can u guess which scene), he did a remake with his own style & his own twist. ;D
