Pitch Black started it all... thanks to that movie, I am so poison about the universe Ridthingy was in. Then came The Chronicles of Rid d i c k... so, any fans out there?

I dare say I'm a fan after the 2nd movie, Chronicles of Riddick. Pitch Black was so-so, good for a B-grader. Found the movie adaptation shortly after and checked the Appendices with gives more background on the Necromongers. The Lord Marshal seen in the movie is not the first. The book also had an alternative teaser ending, on what Riddick does after assuming control. Would look forward to a 3rd movie!

I think there maybe a censor onboard. Let's see: Riddick Rid d i c k
I had typed s p o o n or something on another thread and it came out funny.
Yep, confirm. Did a preview and "d i c k" and "p o o n" shows up as thingy. ;D

I'm surprise it picked out 'Rid d i c k' eventhough it was one word. Just modified the above posts with spacing between the letters.

board censorship. that's funny.
Pitch Black is what one would call A-grade B-grade movie. there really is nothing much to it, no fancy special effects or cast, but it captured the atmosphere.
as for Chronicles of Riddick, it was a more enjoyable sci-fi flick. the Necromonger ships were of interesting designs.
there is also an animated Riddick movie, but i can't remember the name at this moment. it is supposedly based before the Chronicles of Riddick.

Yah, the brief animated episode fills in the gap between Pitch Black and Chronicles. Basically what happens to the shuttle after leaving the planet in movie 1 leading to how the trio split-up.

Never watched Pitch Black so as far as I was concerned CoR set the stage, and what a stage! I've always loved very dark, occult and bizzare settings (that's why I'm crazy about 'Aliens' & 'Matrix'. Anything bio-mechanical with a twist gets my full attention.
And the gizmos, the costume, the culture, the weapons! Love everythiung about it!

I experimented a bit with the censorship programme and this is what I found out: you can't type 'd i c k' or 'p e n i s' but you can type 'prick' & 'nob'. Bastard is perfectly fine, but a promiscuous lady is changed to 'very *friendly* person', a streetwalker is changed to 'sleeper', and we all know what 'f**k' is, even though the programme censored the two alphabets in the middle(DUH!)
