My two cents about the movie... Spoilers Alert! The Good:-[/b] - The action scenes. Man, Michael Bay can string along chase scenes like no other, check out the car-chase scenes in this movie!!
- The build-up. Surprisingly effective, it sets up the story, and explains the motivations of Lincoln Six Echo (McGregor) quite well.
- Humour (intentional or otherwise). The flick is funny in places, especially the dialogue between McCord (Buscemi's character) and Lincoln. Especially funny are the scenes where Lincoln Six Echo meets his sponsor, Tom Lincoln. McGregor meets McGregor, hilarious! ;D
- Ewan McGregor
- Scarlett Johansson
The Bad & The Ugly- The international trailer revelead far too many crucial plot points & twists, imho. Boo!
- After the good-buildup in the first 30mins or so, it all goes wham-bam-Michael-Bay- explosive-trademark style for the remainder of the movie... it does get a bit much. Case in point, the car-chase scenes. Beautifully done no doubt, but by the time the Black Wasps @ hover-bikes were introduced, I was like, enough already!!.. But no, it had to go on.. right onto (and right off again) the 70th-storey floor of a corporate office building..stretching the whole suspension of disbelief thing..
I definitely enjoyed this more than the totally-forgettable Bad Boys II...

Let us know what you think of the movie, dude!! And it's not so much of a bad streak for Michael Bay. Thus far, only his latest movie The Island is struggling at the box office . His last movie, the unfathomably bad Bad Boys II grossed over USD200 million in worldwide box office receipts despite it having a nonsensical plot. His trademark style? There should be a list, and I'll start off with one for the moment.. look for this in any and all of his movies - Over-the-top-action-sequences, mainly car chase scenes; loaded with crashes, explosions, and just visually blowing effects!! (reference: The Rock, Bad Boys I & II, The Island) If cars are not a feature of the movie, substitute with airplanes (Pearl Harbour) or space shuttles (Armageddon)
Gotta give it to that guy, he has perfected the art of the action-sequence-chase-scene ;D

alright...watched it..
a relief after watching Stealth just the day before....Stealth wasa total let-down.
Storyline-wise, it's simple and rather common. What makes me fancy this movie is its engaging action scenes. My favourite has to be the lorry scene when the duo got smart and released the huge "barbells". I know this scene is quite a common scenes in hollywood films, but i just like it. It feels "fresh"
The dynamicity of the characters are noteworthy. Particularly the black mercenary. And practically all characters were covered sufficiently although not indepth.
So Michael bay, IMO, isn't bad at all. Now aching to watch Bad Boys II and Pearl Harbor. hahaha.

Michael Bay good for action movies. Enough to make people watch the movie for cool action sequences I think. Ya, the Bad Boys II car chase sequence still memorable. I thought The Island was ok, although much of the plot was revealed in the trailer. Fortunately the ending wasn't revealed so up to a certain point I wasn't sure how the story was going to end. Perhaps lukewarm response is due the general public not quite accepting the whole Cloning issue... in Msia there was a warning before the movie screened that whole Clone issue is fiction only and not to be disturbed by the concept, or something to that effect (in BM)... hmm... Ewan McGregor messes with Clones in Star Wars and then gets himself cloned in The Island KT, guess you saw the uncensored version with the necessary sweaty bits... cut, cut, cut here as usual... Oh, I couldn't get the Sean Bean Boromir image out of my mind... he's stuck in that LOTR role to me.... did anyone also notice Ethan Phillips from Voyager's Neelix in the movie?

Ewan McGregor messes with Clones in Star Wars and then gets himself cloned in The Island well, that's what you get when you mess with clones.
