In Q3 2004, a competition for MySciFiFan logo was called together with a T-shirt design under the following guidelines: Inviting any artistic scifi and fantasy fans to participate in the official MySciFiFan Logo & T-shirt Design Competition. This logo will come to represent the MySciFiFan community and shown on related media (website, flyers, etc.). The t-shirt will be made available to the community to wear with pride.
Logo Guidelines: 1. Representative of both Science Fiction and Fantasy genres equally balanced. 2. Contain no political/religious symbols or copyright trademarks. 3. Comprise of not more than 4 colours.
T-shirt Guidelines: 1. Contain the MySciFiFan logo. 2. Contain the text MySciFiFan to a proposed font. 3. Prints maybe front, back or both. 4. Assume short-sleeve round neck t-shirt.
Note the logo and t-shirt designs may be submitted separately. Hence, the winning logo design need not be the winning t-shirt design submitted by the same person.Since then, 3 logos have been pitched but none officially approved yet by the community via polling. LOGO 1Interim logo currently used. LOGO 2LOGO 3Any motivated members are still welcome to propose MySciFiFan logos and post to this forum. Appreciate any comments are in a civil manner and remain constructive. Thank you.

The designs have not been finalized yet as these are just entries. vkkf1977 if you have a better and nicer logo design than the 3 show above, I urge you to submit your entry. OKe? ;D

er... this is ironic.. am i allowed to have a say as well, admin ( fishyahoo) ?
i agree the 3rd is biased towards Star Trek. The local Trek community can use it most appropiately.
as for 2nd design... well... i cannot comment.

Here's some background on Logo 1: - the top bar is meant to be a lightsaber representing sci-fi - the low bar is meant to be a sword representing fantasy - the words explain what is MySciFiFan - the crescent and logo gives a sorta space like feel, as well as somewhat resembling similar icons of the logo flag - space background for space/sky. - white and yellow as contract against the black and also akin to stellar colours like white stars, yellow sun, etc. (somewhat consistent with website and forum colours). Hope that makes sense.

WOW! I like the Transmy t-shirt! Simple, bold colours and stunning graphics.
But of course they have less things to consider when coming up with their design as they're all about transformers. We on the other hand have a much much wider spectrum to cover...

A bigger spectrum. And we also need to show a generic view too otherwise people complain of bias...

A bigger spectrum. And we also need to show a generic view too otherwise people complain of bias... Um, what specifically are you commenting about? The MySciFiFan logos above or Transmy t-shirts?
