Hehehehe... well, you survived the last assault didn't you? How many costumes you have in place for RotS? Slightly under 2 months left... Well, not good enough as I kept wearing my the same Gown again and again. Being short and fat didn't help much as I can only wear my own costumes. For SW, I only got 1-3 costumes under my belt rite now. But since I'm a Lady of Leisure currently, I got time to make those I can make on my own, and hopefully afford those I have to send out ( 2 at least). Target is 7 SW costumes by May 16th, including those at hand and only need completing/upgrading, plus 2 pairs that kinda overlaps each other. By Nov, must have more than 10 to wear a different one every weekend! Back to the Prologue elf... what are you using for the armour (sorry, I can't seem to get away from armour!) This thick vinyl I gotten some time ago I hope. If not, I'll try to get Tikar-Getah ( rubber floor mat). I'll love to use Aluminium Sheet with Craft Foam ( latest obsession thanks to my Padawan) as it will give a better metallic look; originals were made from ABS or Styrene plastics with the heroes from Brass/Metal. Anyhow, since I can't start doing the Prologue one until I had completed the Elven Archer, even tho' I already got all the templates needed, haven't give the Prologue much thots yet. What sort of paint is that Krylon? Fabric? Oil-based? Acrylic? Spray or bottle/jar/can? Err.....I have no idea other than it's a spray paint popular among US Props Makers, but it's great on Plastic and doesn't run compared to Nippon Pyrox. This is the official site for it but I think they had changed the packaging, naming and types so I can't tell which one is the ones I'm using. www.krylon.com/Mine always have Titles like "Copper Brillance" or "18KT Gold Plate" or "Original Chrome" or "Sterling Silver" etc and the bottle is slim.

Good to see you've made it here Rhyden! ;D About your avatar... would have expected Gimli?! Hehehehe. Hiya, Rycc! Sorry for dissappearing like that for ages! Now that I am slowly regaining my sanity levels, I'm here to stay. ;D You just wait... I'll find gobs of Gimli pictures. I'll sing all the dwarfish songs and drink all the dwarfish ales until someone gets positively tired of me and kick me out. Or when the Hobbit comes out and I'll sing there instead!!! (yeah, right! )

How many of the those costumes do you sew by yourself? And how many get sent out to the tailor anyway? The rubber mat is a good idea too. It may get a little warm and heavy after a while though. Have you tried some closed cell foams? You can get those cheap sleeping foam mats in green or blue colour. They are made of closed cell foams and they hold the shape rather nicely. Add an aluminium sheet to carve all those details in, and you would have a jolly decent armour that is fairly light but looks solid/heavy. Err.....I have no idea other than it's a spray paint popular among US Props Makers, but it's great on Plastic and doesn't run compared to Nippon Pyrox. Cool! I will try to give it a go one of these days. Assuming I can find them here!! *looks thoughtful*

Heehee....I wish but I think for sanity sake, I'll try to cap at 20 SW Costumes by the time I "retire" from costuming ( I think I better stop making costumes or limit to once a year once I go Collage & University). Of course, not all will be accurate and probably the simple ones. How many of the those costumes do you sew by yourself? And how many get sent out to the tailor anyway? Hmmmm.....the inner robe for my Royal Guard was tailored but I made the Cloak & Obi/Sash myself. I'm itching to change my Inner Robe since I used Satin previously and wasn't happy with the slits at the side of the Inner Robe while turned out to be burden when the wind blows. My Sith Altergo Inner Tunic and Vest were tailored and I might do the same for the Gloved Gauntlets and Darth Maul-like belt if I can find a bargain. Other costumes are either assembled from items I found in the shops or I made them myself. Have you tried some closed cell foams? You can get those cheap sleeping foam mats in green or blue colour. Cause I'm using that pasted on top of aluminium sheet for my Elven Archer, except for the Chest Armor and helmet I think. My Padawan recommanded it after we read about Gen ( from Haldir's Elven Archer Forum recommandation of Craft Foams for the Elven Archer Armor. ;D Now I wish I can use Sintra or ABS plastic for the Elven Warrior armor as that will means they can really stay on a stand. Or I can fit and afford the set one of my LOTR Costumer friend had put online at eBay due to an accident in the family.

Let just say I'm becoming like the American SW Costumers, doing the costumes for the love of it and wearing it to other events, photoshoots & outing, not only SW related. Some parts are shared between at least 2 costumes anyway.
Anyhow, you will find out why I need that much soon. Only 1 more month or even less to go before the news can spread like wildfire! ;D

Heeheee....I mentioned it already in other SW Thread. ;D Yes, the Star Wars Exhibition is coming to Singapore this Nov/Dec onward BUT feedback from the previous Sat, the Japan company in charge of the exhibition rite now still haven't send back the contract to Singapore Science Centre so the contract can't be finalized. Life in the exhibition hall is pretty bored so someone got to run around the hall in costume/armor occasionally. Something like this:

The other Ringwraith Costumes are too big for the gals, the Indian guy don't want to wear the full Gandalf Costume and I happened to bring my Matrix Reloaded Costumes there. ;D Hai....those were the days of responsibility, running all over the hall till Sound travels faster than light and chaos when there is hardly anyone around and they behaved themselves!
