one of the memorable sci-fi series from my younger days. i can't say i have indept knowledge of it, but then again, it didn't last very long ( only 3 seasons ) and wasn't well developed. it had a good concept going for it though. who's to say the ocean isn't as exciting to explore as space ? as the shows intro tagline goes "earth's final frontier - the ocean". so what did we have ? teenage hackers, genetically-enchanced humans, talking dolphins, alien abduction, and real ocean facts. what's not to enjoy ?

I kinda liked the series too. Not many sci-fi in those days. It had potential, but I think suffered from poor storylines and uninteresting characters. Also compared to Star Trek TNG in those days with bad similarities, i.e. kid genius ala Wesley Crusher.
The final seasons change of lead character, i.e. Captain, was drastic though I have nothing against Michael Ironside. I did think the transition between seasons were very badly executed, i.e. Seaquest transported to alien planet to help fight war in season finale then suddenly back in Earth like nothing's happened!

Oh my god. SeaQuest DSV, where to begin? Great theme music by John Debney. Great concept in the beginning rooting the show in reality and I looked forward to every episode in the first season. But when I saw the second season with the evil plant monster, and the laser rifles that SeaQuest personnel suddenly had from out of the blue where previously there was no mention of them.... (even the laser FX were lame, with solid line, no glow effects) I totally lost interest in the show.
