haha too many forums for me to participate i will go crazy just looking at forums Just concentrate/pick your favourate forums, don't try to do them all. Remember the good ol' saying, it's quality and not quantity that counts (to certain extent of course). And hope to be your "Tonto"s, we do Right folks??!You are already an active member, it seems.. (judging by your response time...haha)

Yes Clonetrooper is right. Its quality you want not qualtity. I'm also a member of many forums but I use most of them for resource, and only actively view a few threads that's of interest to me. MySciFiFan however, is my 'home' on the net, and not just because I'm an admin here, but because most of my friends are here, friends I initially met online but have met over time, and we help each other not just for Sci-Fi and fantasy related issues, but also other day-to-day things like moral support when we have personal problems, when we need a second (or third) opinion with some work issues, when we need to find out where best to go for dinner/picnic/vacation etc etc etc...
This is a place where you can make friends who share your interests which you may NEVER meet in real life, since we're all confined by geography and/or the social & professional circle we interact with...

you may want quality of the board, but it depends on the quanitity of the members and how well you get along with them. take me. i'm a member of a couple star wars boards, a few LOTR boards, and one POTC board. though i'm "running around" amist of all these boards, this site here is the only one that has welcomed not only me, but Medic; two female Americans who are fans of SW. i may not be all into making my own costumes and props, but the members here are the most heart felt warming people ever. and it's an honor to call them friends.

you may want quality of the board, but it depends on the quanitity of the members and how well you get along with them. With "quality of the board" I was including the forummers/members as well, not just the board (eg.layout, design, interface, technical, speed etc.) itself!!! haha ;D
...i may not be all into making my own costumes and props, but the members here are the most heart felt warming people ever. True, agreed and thanks very much for the compliment! 8-)Appreciate it, we do
Agree wholly with what Plo said, it's also what I had in mind in long term.... the camaderie and compassion for each other....helping each other beyond the Sci-Fi/Fantasy interests.... all my friends/acqaintences are almost all IT related. This is not to say it's bad, but need to get other exposure also.... (let's say I strongly believe there's other life forms besides IT ppl haha...) is good for self development and reducing ignorance by increasing awareness (like, what/how R the folks on the other side of the fence doing there...) Well, basically to sum it up, the way I look at my presence/contribution here is that by happily sharing my Sci-Fi/Fantasy interests with others "publicly" for the very first time (I've NEVER joined a Sci-Fi dedicated club before!) such as Toys collections, talk about movies, COSTUMING projects, etc. I look beyond and long term getting to know friends and ppl that I'd otherwise never would've met due to geographical(obviously), professional, social, economical, psychological, physiological, medical etc. reasons.
Another reason for me joining this type of forums I find is to get an occasional (ie.near daily!) break from the routine and mundane day-to-day life (be it work, home or the world) so as to try to stay sane in this crazy world! haha ;D But nonetheless I still cherish & love my family
I do hope that one day when there're no more humans on Earth -due to extinction or moved to other planets etc.- and aliens landed on Earth, their "archeologists" would discover that we once had the Internet which connected millions of humans around the globe like no way before and which I personally consider a MAJOR milestone for mankind!
