4&5 nov? sounds good. so what would a myscififan.com member get/hv to do at this gathering, as opposed to any member of the public? eg: do i hv to come dressed as jar-jar binks, and sign autographs or something? (not that i'd get any requests, dressed as jar-jar!) tylerdurden,
Since you are a NEWBIE with MySciFiFan, the ANSWER is YES. You have to come FULLY DRESSED as Jar Jar Binks as part of the Initiation rites performed under the Full Moon on 4 November 2006 during the MySciFiFan Halloween Event. ;D
You'll thank me later when you become the sensational BABE MAGNET of the Event.

You'll thank me later when you become the sensational BABE MAGNET of the Event. Weirdly (and sadly), there's actually SOME truth in that statement, as witnessed during the EP3 premier week... ;D
There're some pics somewhere but I can't seem to find them right now...

There're some pics somewhere but I can't seem to find them right now... Got it and here is one of them that Rhyden took on 21 May 2005 during our memorable MySciFiFan STAR WARS Costumed Contingent appearance at MidValley Megamall ;D

This Jar Jar actually looks rather ok...but I was referring to the one we saw at the GSC event, with Yoda and 'voice changer' Vader

holy crap! u mean there r ppl out there who VOLUNTARILY dress up as one of the starwars universe's most universally hated characters??
no offence, but that's just scary.... then again, d event on the 4&5 nov is a halloween thingie, right? so scary is relevant here.
btw, i once dressed up as anakin at the screening of revenge of the sith. it was the 2nd day of screening, if i'm not mistaken. and there were lotsa other fans in costume too...

Welcome, Tylerdurden! ;D I'm glad you were dressed up as Anakin. Which cinema were you viewing RotS back then? Geeze, Pol... do you have to bring up that Jar Jar? I am still emotionally scared from bumping into them. But yeah, the bloke did dress up as Jar Jar but then i think they were paid for it by GSC to endure it, so I guess it is not soooo bad. I haven't actually seen anyone local who wears one just for kicks. I know most of us tend to be "extra nice" to Jar Jar... by virtue of all the faces we were pulling at "it" or all the mimed head chopping and backstabbing by lightsabers.

rhyden, i was at the gsc in midvalley. there was quite a big turnout of fans in costume---a palpatine (according to him, tho he didnt hv the makeup on), 2 vaders, a guy with yoda strapped to his back (but he wasnt in luke's dagobah outfit), another jedi, and yours truly as a (short-haired) epIII anakin. i remember complete strangers coming up to me for photo opportunities, esp a couple of hot babes. believe it or not, one even asked for my hp number! and another dude, asked if i would be at gsc again the next day, cos he'd forgotten his camera. i guess he thought us crazy folk in costume were employed by the cinema management, cos "no one in their right mind would dress up like that in public, right?" heh. ;D ps: i didnt give that gal my number, cos i had a gf at the time. and she would hv force-choked me if she found out i had shown my lightsaber to another woman. oh well, that was my 15 minutes of fame...
