That is what I mean. The "U" pipe assembly is but one part only. The whole she-bang has the other straight pipes in 1 1/2 inch diameter and 1 inch diameter. Ok, will definiteky check it out during my upcoming trip to KL. Thanks again Douglas! [/color]

And if you read this thread from the top I believe Douglas did mention where to get the said sink tailpiece.
Also there's more then one way to make a lightsaber. I'm currently making 5 and none of them involves a sink tailpiece, or any parts mentioned in bigyellowbox.
Will post pics of my hardware sabers as soon as I get them finished, which HAVE to be tomorrow or Thursday as I need to bring them to KL on Friday May 13 ;D

The Sink tailpipe that was mentioned in BigYellow are hard to comeby here.
You can get an alternative pipe of the 1 1/2 inch diameter from any shop that sells bathroom items and accessories.
Ask for the metal water trap set.

Thanks douglas..
Is this an advisable item to use, or would you suggest any better, easier alternatives?

This is a better choice because it is of a softer and thinner metal.
I had used stainless steel pipe before and it is super hard! Difficult to cut or drill.

Hi, are you positively sure? Because me and my friend went looking for the water trap thingy you mentioned all around the shops in KL but couldn't find the right one. Seems the standard size is 1.5"x8" but we need 1.5"x12".... So how? Anyone know of any other alternative?

Seems the standard size is 1.5"x8" but we need 1.5"x12".... So how? Anyone know of any other alternative? Buy 2 pieces of 1.5"x8" and join them together with a connector, then cut it to 12 inch length. the connector can be used as the 'clamp' where the activation box will be fitted.
But remember not to cut it so that the connector is right at the centre of the 2 tubes, It should be a bit(1 or 1.5 inch) closer to the front of the saber.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you need further clarification.

The one I've got is exactly 1.5" by 12" without the flare edge.

Hmm... Well probably we went looking in the wrong part of town then? It's kinda embarassing to say what we want it for coz they don't know what the heck we're talking about. So, most of the time when they ask what is that? We'll just ask, "ner for the kitchen sink wan ah" then they'll ask... Standard size ah? Then we say yes lor. Then after they bring it out and then measure it... It's 1.5"x18" Oh well.... Plus its RM45, or somewhere around there. So, is that the standard price or are we getting ripped off? Oh, and to Sabermaster: Urm, I'm trying to make a Darth Vader-esque lightsaer hilt. And according to the instructions, I need a 8.5" pipe. So, the shop ones are off by only 0.5". So, if I do clamp them together, I'll still have to cut them "creatively". Douglas, could you point me to a probable place to find the 1.5"x12" pipes or could I get 1.25"x12"? Because I found 1.5" to be too big for my liking Thanks again for your time and patience ;D
