If you want black PVC/vinyl, your best bet is to import it. We've been searching for years in Malaysia and no one has found a reliable source yet.
Alternatively you can use very large plumbing pipes, but the thickness may be a big too much.
Do you have a drawing/image of the corset you're trying to make? I may have better suggestions if I know exactly what it looks like.

Are you looking for black vinyl as in pleather? If so, there's a fabric shop across the road from the Petaling Street main archway that sells them by the meter... black pleather with mesh lining.

not not really.... ive seen the shops in petaling street, sg wang and kamdar also.... the pleather they sell is matte. ive made pants out of the fabric from kamdar its it is of very poor quality - the pvc was actually PEELING off the lining after the event!!!
i dont have a very good pic of the corset... its the one Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) wore. need to look very hard at it cos pics r not clear

Sorry, I thought you're trying to make an 'armour' type corset.

WOH! You planning to do Catwoman? My friend was suppose to make that for WCG-Coscon last weekend but after I showed her how my NZ friend did it, its design diagram and other pictures of the costume ( 2 versions of it went on exhibition not too long ago), and due to lack of time, have to defer it to later and did the Comic Version instead. Anyhow, for Wet Look Vinly, one option is to get someone from Singapore to buy it from you if still can't find in Malaysia. Haven't gotten it in some time but think around SGD12-20/m depending on buying from Cloths District or Spotlight. But be warned that it'll peel off after ~2 years depending on how much you maintain it and how often you wear it. My Reloaded/Revolution Trinity Coat is made from Wet Look Vinyl from Arab Street and always hung on the door of my wardrobe ( so "aired" all the time) and yet after ~2 years, parts with friction like the Armpit Area started to peel off. A friend's Darth Maul costume completely peel off after 2-3 years left to "rot" in his wardrone ( Ya, SGD500 went down the drain ) Some said you can prevent the peeling problem if you wipe the coat with certain type of oil or lotion but got to check with the experts. I'll see if I can dig out the design of the corset as mine isn't that big; it's the design sketch of the whole costume, Front, Back & Side.

Sorry, I thought you're trying to make an 'armour' type corset. LOL! You thinking of "Electric Queen" Galadriel or what? Seriously, if "Armour" type of Corset, I'll love to have the Musical Galadriel one, the one she wore in the finale?

LOL! You thinking of "Electric Queen" Galadriel or what? You know me, always thinking of the more difficult parts first
