The end of the first film was an anti-climax. The whole battle seemed quite dull and over way too easily.
If FF2 takes on a bigger feel with cosmic entities and such it might be sufficiently different from other superhero flicks to be more interesting

I guess we can assume the final battle in FF1 sucked because they haven't really come into their powers yet. Let's hope Dr Doom becomes the DD of the comics and has legions of armored flunkies and super-powered bodyguards and WMDs. Heroes are only as good as their villains after all.

IMO, FF1 final battle was the shortest one i've ever seen, but then, if you think back, it started from each of them, having an individual battle...
Silver Surfer certainly looks cool and the chase scene was good too...

Trailer looks interesting... though gives nothing much away other than arrival of the Silver Surfer to Earth. Might Galactus be on the way soon?
The Surfer's power of intangibility as shown in the trailer is not something I recall from the comics...
Coming 14 June 2007!

Why isn't anyone discussing this movie yet?
As most reviews had said, it was much better than the first movie and having Doug Jones and Laurence Fishburne both play the Silver Surfer was awesome.
SPOILERS
Galactus was more the Ultimate Galactus rather than the traditional Earth-616 Galactus. Although it was more of an all-destroying cloud rather than a swarm of machines. How the Surfer help prepare for the destruction of the planet and how he eventually does it is quite interesting.
Doom. Jeez. I like Julian McMahon, but he just doesn't exude the air of a maniacally dangerous super-genius / monarch / sorceror that can level a city if he wants to. He weasels his way into situations and gets pwned like a nobody. Though the final battle with him was somewhat spectacular.
The Fantastic Four... better get their act together. Ultimately, they ARE the first family of the Marvel Superheroes. They're no squad of troopers, nor are they the Avengers. And it shows that they are a family.
Fantasticar! Whoopie!!!
But...
But the best bit of the movie, the only part that caused a moderate nerdgasm in me is that there are not one Herald of Galactus in the movie.... there are TWO!!!! TWO!!!! (The other one hasn't been converted by Galactus yet in the movie... can you guess who?)

Why isn't anyone discussing this movie yet? Just took a peek at the pirated VCD that my brother-in-law was watching and this is what I have to say about Jessica Alba reprising her role again as Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Girl - HOT!!!!
