Hi & welcome, I am not really into books, but I guest if you read a book as compared to a movie, its a totally different experience. You may get into the mind of the hero/ character and know what they are thinking plus a lot more details, while watching a movie you only see it from a third person's point of view. Cheers.

Hi Jadenlee,
Yeah, that's true. I love both actually. Movies are a complete visual experience; details, color, backgrounds. Books are more imagination-based, and personal. The pacing of books allow you time to fully understand nuances and development of characters. movies tend to have to be constraint to 2-hr or 3-hr timeslots, this hampers the development a little, studio execs hate this kind of screen time, where nothing is exploding or getting shot at. I generally prefer to watch a movie first before reading the book. Vice-versa tends to disappoint me a little. But as long as you realise the moviemaker's restrictions and constraints you can always still enjoy the movie if you can come to terms with the circumstances and try to appreciate the movie for what it is, and not what it could have been.
Most die-hard LOTR fans loath the movies because it didn't stick fastidiously to the book, however, many agreed that Peter Jackson's key triumph was in knowing what to edit and leave out. Even then much of what he shot was left out of what made it to the big screen, like Gandalf and Saruman's final face off.
X-Men fanboys spent far too much time pointing out the mistakes and liberties Bryan Singer took with the movies instead of enjoying what made it on to the screen. I for one would have loved to see more interaction between Nightcrawler and Colossus which until today still strikes me as the true heart of the X-Men. But I was just jazzed to see them on screen, in spite of Kurt's bamf-less teleports and Colossus' missing Russian accent.

As you are aware cassiel, there was absolutely NO interaction between Nightcrawler and Colossus due to the fact that the former was somehow written off X-MEN 3. Will just have to wait and see whether both will be featured in the 4th X-MEN movie, whenever that will be.
BTW, cassiel your new personal text,
Forget it, rebel scum!
Stormtroopers are legion!
sounds COOL, have I seen that somewhere before?

Yes, which, all in, is the only gripe i have about the X-Men. apparently they left out Nightcrawler becoz his CGI teleports were to expensive to do. bah!
Oh, welcome back Dark OverLord of the Sith, wherever you went. I am new-ish; merely a former-Borg, Reaver-infected, Sith apprentice. i am undercover as a lowly Stormtrooper, but unlike most of my laser-magnetic brethren, I'm the one that always somehow manages to not get shot. Pleaseta meetcha!
My personal text is something i made up. I think. Or pieced together from various sources throughout my life. Glad you like it.

I find that part on CGI teleports hard to buy indeed. Nightcrawler's *BAMF* certainly do not need hi-tech gizmo to replicate. IMHO simpler old fashion camera trick can get the job done. That's for the comforting words o'cassiel. 'Tis the time of the year when I'm busiest at compared to the rest. Exaceberated when I don't have ANY annual leave to take!! Pleaseta meetcha indeed "Sith apprentice". If you are aware I'm in the 501st Legion itself and I have the WAYS to literally TURN into a real 1:1 Stormtrooper indeed. That is provided your MIND, TIME and WALLET is in this secret desire of yours....
