In the Padwans page for costuming there was a tidbit for Obi wan's brother. name ~ Owen Lars.
Anyone know what book this came from?

This was from a line in the Return of the Jedi novelization. On Dagobah, the expanded scene in the novel had Obi-Wan explaining to Luke that Owen was Obi-Wan's brother. Later books also took this into account when explaining Obi-Wan's background.
It wasn't until Attack of the Clones that it was explained what Owen Lars relationship to Anakin really is. All the previous connections to Obi-Wan have been retconned and nullified by that movie.

Wow that is a shock. The attack of the clones, is that the book a series or what? I want to know which one specifically that way I can get it. |

Owen Lars is shown to be Cliegg Lars son, thus Shmi Skywalker's stepson, thus Anakin Skywalker's stepbrother. Owen Lars was played by Phil Brown in ANH and Joel Edgerton in both AOTC and ROTS. |

Note also that Owen being Obi-Wan's brother is also mentioned briefly in the Jedi Apprentice series which took off after Episode 1 (short novels documenting Qui-Gon and a teenaged Obi-Wan's adventures before the prequel trilogy).
Would be nice to have this loophole properly cleared up...
