Hey all,
I know this question is really something I want to ask but not sure how many of you had purchase Star Wars Trilogy of Episode IV, V & VI on DVD and had watch a few extra changes that was made.
But one major change was the ending scene of Return of the Jedi, which instead one unknown actor that appeared next to Obi-Wan Kenobi & Yoda, it was replace instead by young Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christiansen). I know in the commentary of what George Lucas said was necessary, but does it justify?

I want to get a list of all the changes, a set of the original movies, two TV sets and 2 DVD players so that I can play the original, unaltered movie simultaneously with the OT DVD movie and look out for the changes.

I know in the commentary of what George Lucas said was necessary, but does it justify? The unknown actor was Sebastian Shaw. I liked the new hologram scene with the Emperor in ESB

Don't think the original movies are available on DVD. So you may need the 'local' version or maybe an LD version if you can even find it these days.

i think in order to get the original unaltered ones, have to go treasure hunting for the LD version ? only what i've heard, since no way i could afford LD back then. even the original VCDs being sold now are Special Edition, though not the current altered SE of the DVDs.
well i saw the final scene, but haven't heard the commentary. it looks okay, from a technical point. doesn't look weird or anything. its more of the concept of the change. its in discussion that we see young Anakin because it is his purest form ( pre-corruption ). old Anakin is after the fall ( post-corruption ). so after being redeemed and becoming one with The Force, his young essence/spirit/lifeforce/whatever is the form he shall remain in.
yes, the new Emperor hologram is way better than the old monkey lady puppet one.

I have that LD set, way back from when I was a young lad. Definitive Collection, 9 discs, CAV... lots of goodies in the third disc, side B, of each movie. And the only LD player I know that's still operational is back at my dad's place.
