For the benefit of aspiring MySciFiFan members who are planning to make NON-Armored costumes like the Scout Walker Drivers or better known as AT-ST DRIVER costumes to qualify and join the 501st MALAYSIA - BRUNEI OUTPOST (like some of the up and coming Imperial Officers / Commanders ), here is the requirements posted by Mark Fordham, Legion Commanding Officer of the 501st Legion :
An AT-ST Driver must have the following:
1. Open face helmet similar to both Snowtrooper & AT-AT Commander.
A. Painted gray (or olive green)
B. Black auto door trim (or something similar) around edge.
C. Comlink on the right side of helmet the same as the AT-AT Comanders.
D. 2 Greeblies, one on either side of helmet. (Officers Discs)
E. Goggles, tinted (maybe military or motorcycle) but the strap must not have and wording on it.
F. Black chin strap with black chin cup.
2. Gray Coveralls
A. Imperial cog patches on both shoulders
B. Pockets on both thighs
i) Large square pockets with flaps, the flaps form a point in the center of the pocket.
C. Pockets on both arms
i) Right arm pocket is the same shape as the large thigh pockets, the COG patch is above the pocket area
ii) Left arm pocket is a rectangle with cylindrical pockets for three tools, the COG patch is above the pocket area.
D. Collar
i) The collar should be about 2” high, and close to the side with Velcro
ii) The collar flap comes to a point
E. Coverall torso
i) The main zipper of the coveralls should be covered
ii) There are no visible zippers or pockets on the torso of this costume
F. The coveralls should be a light to medium grey color.
(Note: Pocket placement is similar to ALL other costumes using jumpsuits, AT-AT Driver, TIE Pilot, Fett, Imperial Crew, etc.)
3. Standard issue imperial belt with belt buckle and greeblie (officers disc).
4. Standard issue black officer style boots .
5. Standard issue black gauntlet style gloves.
Approved Options
An AT-ST Driver should have the following (recommended, but not required)
Black blaster holster and blaster. Options include, DL-44, Merrson flash 4 or Imperial short range blaster or Stormtrooper blaster.
An AT-ST Driver must have the following:
