Wow...for this price can get Scout trooper armour (sans helmet and soft armour)...talk about supply and demand!!! haha ;D Anyway, very cheap alternative: Get Rubies' Clone/Shock trooper costume for US$75 (comes with helmet but I'm sure material is trashy/thin and brittle like mask)... clonetrooper the HIGH PRICES has actually little to do with supply and demand. In response to your posted reply on the "quality" of the Rubie's Clone/Shock trooper costume this statement applies : When you pay PEANUTS, you get MONKEYS!"

Well, I'd like to hear your reasons on "it has little to do with supply/demand". The reasons why I mentioned "supply & demand" are: - It's from ROTS (current hype) - Helmet wasn't produced for sale before the movie but sure lot of ppl wannit now; - Moulds (to produce the helmet) have to be made now, somemore no actual helmet was made for the movie (all CGI) to make an "original" cast from; I don't see any Rubies etc. Shocktroopers helmet (except the previously mentioned costume set) out there, only the MR and other fan-made helmets out there if we're talking about screen accurate helmets of course. Market values for them is some hundred US$, which runs up to about anywhere between RM 1-2K+ (and up). So, I'd still believe (maybe's just me) that anyone with a decent, near screen-accurate Shockie helmet out there can wait for a handsome price (and so far all my ebay surveys support this belief, incl.clone pilot, ARC helmet /armour. Heck, not even to mention an AT-RT, BARC etc. helmet/armour which not seen yet so even got $$ cannot buy...yet!). BTW, so happened here's a fan-made one("just" US$ 100): cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=790&item=7530429048&rd=1 however haven't compared/checked whether it's screen accurate(ie.not based on a Stormie helmet).
So to sum it up, I won't expect to see a similar priced Shocktrooper/EpIII trooper helmet or armour in the near future as compared to the other "old" helmets (eg.X-Wing, Stormie, Biker Scout, the Fetts, TIE etc.).
So "Live long and prosper...." (oops, wrong theme...hehe!) ;D

Well, I'd like to hear your reasons on "it has little to do with supply/demand". My pleasure to list down some of my QUALIFIED reasons why supply/demand are NOT the determinant factors such HIGH prices :
1) MASTER REPLICA is deemed as a Name Brand by now. They can set PREMIUM prices for their products and produce More IF they wished, and STAR WARS collectors will still purchase their products. So IF they upped their Output and flood the market with all sorts of Movie Accurate Clone Trooper helmets you can see in SW Ep III ROTS, they can still set HIGH Prices for each design.
2) You have actually provided part of the reason yourself that is, "Moulds (to produce the helmet) have to be made now, somemore no actual helmet was made for the movie (all CGI)". Since MR has to do lotsa R&D and Tooling, inevitably their COSTS to produce this Shocktrooper Helmet has got to be higher too. If their costs is already HIGH, then they have to MARK UP their products to cover the costs and earn some NICE Profit Margins.
Put points 1 and 2 together, regardless even if demand is low, MR is still going to sell at those HIGH Prices. You mean this?
Not worth the US$100. You can just buy lowly priced Stormie Helmet and paint it yourself at a fraction of the price! ;DNOT only WRONG theme, you're in the wrong forums too. You should visit www.startrek.com.my then!
