Hey Tim,

Just can't resist trying this FX Stormtrooper Helmet on for the fun of it ;D



and that was before I put on my Royal Guard Helmet for the 22 May 2005 apperance at One Utama's MPH Book Store. The whole idea is to see really how big is the FX Stormie Helmet and I believed that this pic says it all.

Hey Dudes,

cool stuff! I'm really impressed... I'd also be extremely interested to know the basic steps how Tim made/created the parts etc.

I saw one website which uses the "vacum forming" technique which I find is all too much work (not to mention space consuming in my little Condo).

That one needs to have baking oven la (which I don't have!) to soften the PVC, a frame (still ok), then need all the body casts (geez!) which is made from something looks like wood or whatever. Then have to build a "vaccum table" (basic work table, drill a center hole, attache vacuum to under the hole so that when you hold and push down the hot PVC sheet over the mould, the vacuum would suck it down and form all the shapes etc.

I don't think I can pull this all off by myself even if I'm not working!... might as well pay US$600 for one shipped from US and save all the trouble....hehe.

Any better scratch made alternatives are welcome! Especially for Clone Trooper armour!!! hahah....

Though its close to 4 Years ago (yes time FLIES ) that you've posted the close up shots of your then newly acquired TE ANH Stunt Helmet and Armor, these are still SUPERB Visual Guides. More so in my forthcoming project to CORRECT the position of the Helmet Dome/End Cap that has been affixed soo close to the Face Plate of my 1st Gen ABS DL/LAWS TD STUNT Helmet as shown :

and moving along in the right direction :



with some proper SPACE in between the Brow and the "Eyes" such as your Unpainted TE Helmet pics above.
